ITV Loose Women viewers make new observation about Coronation Street's Charlotte Jordan as she's left squirming by Denise Welch over past

Coronation Street fans were quick to make a new observation about actress Charlotte Jordan as she made an appearance on Loose Women. The soap star, who has been earning praise for her portrayal of Daisy Midgeley in the ITV soap, appeared on the ITV lunchtime show on Thursday (March 30) to chat about her biggest storyline to date.

Earlier this week, Corrie fans were left horrified earlier this week when Justin Rutherford returned to the cobbles on Daisy Midgeley's wedding day and unleashed a horrific attack. After months of torment from Justin, Daisy was finally ready for happy ever after with Daniel Osbourne after a series of hiccups tried to ruin her big day.

But things took a devastating turn when the barmaid's stalker lurked in the shadows at the Rovers Return as she and Ryan Connor, who was drafted in as chauffeur as well as DJ for the wedding, locked up the pub.

In her wedding dress and ready to head to the venue, the barmaid's blood ran cold when she heard Justin's voice. After suggesting things were too perfect for her, Justin hurled acid in Daisy's direction. But in a shocking twist, Ryan Connor stepped in and was left writhing and screaming as the substance burned through his face and arm.

And during Wednesday night's Corrie (March 29), viewers saw Ryan push his ex-girlfriend Alya Nazir as she tried to comfort him. Refusing any visitors, the group headed home but later, Daisy returned to the hospital to see Ryan where he praised her for helping him, saying her quick reaction in getting him into the shower under cold water helped prevent even further damage.

Appearing on Loose Women Charlotte, who joined the soap as Jenny Connor's step-daughter in 2020, was asked if she knew how serious the storyline was, including its inclusion of Daisy being ignored by the police despite her concerns over Justin, to which she said: "I think, that’s what was important for the writers and the storyline, is that all these things that have happened to Daisy are very much based on real life events that have happened to survivors of this situation.

"She’s been constantly let down by the police, and their inability to get involved has resulted in Justin being able to do this really horrific, evil, violent crime."

Talking about the responsibility of the storyline, she continued to tell Charlene White, Jane Moore, Sunetra Sarka and Denise Welch: "On one hand you think lucky me to be given a dramatic storyline, like you say after a lot of lighter, comedic stories under her belt. But at the same time, you just think, as if this happens so regularly. It’s so awful that we even have to do it."

And fans of the soap who had tuned into Loose Women were surprised to hear Charlotte as she spoke in her natural accent, not the one she puts on to play Daisy in the Salford-based programme. @Elizabeth241072 tweeted: "Sounds so much more 'Southern' than her character #loosewomen." @Rosepetal98_ wrote: "She sounds so different speaking as herself!@CharlieJordanxo #Corrie #LooseWomen."

@BroganWills agreed: "I thought the same!" While @TreacleTowers replied: "She is from Surrey and was raised there so seems like a mix of the 2 accents."

As well as talking about Corrie, Charlotte was also quizzed on her pop past and what could have been as she shared her link to Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. Asked whether it was true by Denise, Charlotte squirmed leaving the panellist to ask: "Did you not want me to mention it?" Charlotte said: "It's fine," with a smile for confirming it was true.

"My life's just been so bizarre... It was just an audition that I went on like any other audition when I was acting that I happened to get, wonderful, and then it went on for a couple of years. Then you go through development and things like that and just because you can sing, doesn't necessarily mean you can be a singer."

She confirmed the audition was for a manufactured pop band that Geri was putting together before adding: "So it was a great learning curve. Yes, I can sing but I don't necessarily want to be a singer." To which Charlene replied: "But the pop game's loss is Corrie's win."
