ITV Loose Women viewers confused as EastEnders boss quizzed over flash-forward scene

EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw remained tight-lipped about the current flash-forward scene storyline during an interview on ITV’s Loose Women. At the start of the week, viewers were left scratching their heads after the BBC soap-opera teased a scene that will air in Christmas 2023.

During the chat, Chris repeatedly dodged questions about the storyline, which is set to run over the course of the year. All that is known is that one Albert Square resident will lose their life at the hands of six potential killers - Stacey Slater, Denise Fox, Suki Panesar, Kathy Beale, Sharon Watts and Linda Carter.

After he gave very little away, viewers took to social media to share their annoyance at executive producer Chris and the fact that viewers were encouraged to send in questions. Read on to hear what they had to say.

"Clenshaw came across great on loose women - like he's a proper fan of EastEnders, but totally pointless asking viewers to send in questions," wrote one person. A second then echoed: "Well he revealed a grand total of f*** all and nothing #LooseWomen"

A third commented: "So what was the point in getting everyone to send it questions if they weren’t going to read any out?" And another said: "They didn't even ask about Derek Branning."

Despite being seemingly frustrated by Chris, viewers thought that he came across well in the interview. One person said: "i love chris clenshaw so much man"

A second added: "Clenshaw is so likeable" And a third was fond of Chris’ hairstyle, writing: "Chris clenshaw’s manbun looks cute"

Chris took over as the role of executive producer in June, 2022, replacing Jon Sen at the helm of the hit BBC one soap. Before that, he previously worked on the show as a storyline writer and a story editor between 2015 and 2019.

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
