Some Loose Women viewers have flocked to social media to complain as the show continued on as normal despite news breaking on the Queen's health. It was announced on Thursday afternoon (September 8) the nation’s longest reigning monarch was under medical supervision at Balmoral with the royal family rushing to be by her side.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement at 12.32pm on Thursday saying royal doctors were concerned for health. They said the head of state was comfortable and her royal physicians recommended she remain under medical supervision, as the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and the Duchess of Cornwall cleared their diaries and immediately headed to the Queen’s home in the Scottish Highlands.
A Palace spokesperson said: “Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral." It comes a day after the monarch, 96, pulled out of a virtual Privy Council on Wednesday, a day after appointing Liz Truss as PM at Balmoral Castle.

The Queen's close family have been informed, with the latest announcement escalating fears for the monarch’s health. While the BBC quickly cut its broadcast of Bargain Hunt to switch to live news coverage, Loose Women carried on as usual from 12.30pm to 1.30pm without mention of the breaking news.
Charlene White, Judie Love, Sunetra Sarker and Nadia Sawalha all headed up Thursday's panel and as well as discussing various topics, including the cost of school uniforms, the ladies were also joined by chef and broadcast Andi Oliver and Coronation Street star, Georgia Taylor.
But Loose Women viewers were unimpressed. @irene74xx tweeted: "I can’t believe this is on air when the queen is unwell. coverage is on BBC and other channels. #LooseWomen." @clutterbeauty fumed in response: "Totally agree! What is wrong with you @ITV #LooseWomen? Very disrespectful."
@RoyLee_LY shared: "BBC - breaks it’s regular programming to tell us the breaking news … However - #LooseWomen are still jabbering on about themselves Come on @itvstudios the queen is more important than these women." RyanGSoapKing11 added: "Seems a little insensitive from ITV to not put #LooseWomen on hold over the news about the Queen."
The Manchester Evening News has contacted ITV for comment.
