ITV Loose Women's Kaye Adams gets first ever tattoo in sweet tribute to late mum

Kaye Adams revealed she got her first ever tattoo in a sweet tribute to her late mum - and joked "she will be up there rolling her eyes".

The Loose Women host, who turned 60 in December, got the special inking over the weekend after visiting Black Dot Tattoo in Glasgow.

Kaye shared a video clip on Instagram to her 151K followers, saying: "I've arrived. I'm going in...," before she could be seen lying on a bed looking rather squeamish as the tattoo artist started to get creative.

The BBC Scotland radio presenter had the words 'over twenty one' written on the inside of her arm in memory of her mum Cathie, who would never tell anyone what age she was.

She captioned the post: "I only went and did it! I teased I was going on the How To Be 60 podcast and I know most of you thought I wouldn't do it (to be fair so did I last night!) but I'm so glad I did.

"My mum will be up there rolling her eyes at but I think deep down she'd be a little bit proud too!

"I'll be talking more about the whole experience in an upcoming podcast but for now I just wanted to say a massive thank you to @waywardwomantattoos at @blackdottattoo for being so kind and gentle with me. Honestly it felt more like going to a beauty therapist than a tattoo studio!"

Kaye has always been open about her dread at turning 60. So much so she launched a Podcast called 'How To Be 60' last year in a bid to ease her own nerves, and provide support for other women facing the same milestone.

She has also admitted to lying about her age in the past - a trait which she believes she inherited from her mum - which is another reason she wanted to ease her stress at getting older by launching the podcast with pal Karen Mackenzie.

Many people have been quick to praise Kaye for her bravery at getting her first tattoo.

One person said: "Well done Kaye," with a clapping hand emoji.

Another commented: "I love this!" A third said: "Absolutely brilliant and a great tribute to your mum."

A fourth posted: "Fab. Love it. I have a few that are sentimental ones. You might get the bug to have another now."

"Well done," said a fifth.

On a recent episode of Kaye's How To Be 60 podcast, she said: "I'm definitely getting a tattoo, it's going to be 'Over 21'. I've done a bit of research of tattoo artists in Glasgow.

"I'm just trying to work out where I put it, whether I put it on the inside of my wrist, or maybe down the side of my arm; I don't know where to have it, or which font."
