ITV Loose Women's Brenda Edwards says she talks to late son Jamal every day as she reveals sentimental detail from his funeral

Brenda Edwards appeared on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday (May 4) to pay tribute to her late son Jamal Edwards. The TV personality returned to the Loose Women panel last week for the first time since Jamal passed away earlier this year.

The entrepreneur and music pioneer, who was awarded an MBE in 2014 for his services to music, is known for his role in helping launch the careers of esteemed British artists including Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and Dave. The SBTV founder died suddenly on February 20 aged 31 after it was reported he suffered a sudden heart attack.

His mother, 53-year-old Brenda, spoke to Good Morning Britain hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid on Wednesday in an emotional interview where she shared details of the trust she has set up in his name, and revealed sentimental details from her son's funeral.

Following Jamal's death there was outpouring of shock, grief and tributes paid towards the influential music entrepreneur, who began his career on YouTube.

After Richard praised Brenda for her strength following her son's sudden death, she said: "I'm managing to do it because Jamal's mantra was about self belief, which is why I've named the trust The Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust.

"I still talk about him in the present tense. It has been very comforting the support I've had from his friends, all of my family and people that I don't even know who he made such an impression on.

"It does give me strength that my baby helped so many people.

"I talk to him every morning and every night. I say 'Hello baby', 'Morning baby', 'Goodnight baby', I just talk to him about anything. I get a lot of strength in that

"I do get a lot of strength from that. Anything I was doing, he was always a champion."

Brenda then went on to say that Jamal was very specific with what he wrote in his will, after Richard Madeley questioned him writing a will so soon in his 30s.

"He had to write one because he had businesses. He was quite precise with what he wanted at his funeral. He wanted blue to be represented as he's a fan of Chelsea," Brenda said whilst wearing a blue dress and jewellery dedicated to her son.

"I believe he's always with me. When we laid him to rest there was a J above the sky. All the other clouds were moving but that J never faltered. I am someone who has faith and belief that he is here."

During her chat with fellow Loose Women panellist Colleen Nolen last week, Brenda said she "needed" to come back to the panel and thanked her co-stars for being there for her during this difficult time.

"It has been great having the ladies there and that is something which has been a big part of my life, and the kids' life so I need to return," the 53-year-old said. "It's not even want to, I need to return. I've missed everyone but I thank you for supporting me, and being there at the end of the phone with me."
