Loose Women viewers were quick to air their upset as they slammed a conversation the panelists had on today's show. The ITV lunchtime programme was back on screens on Wednesday afternoon (July 20) with Janet Street-Porter, Denise Welch, Coleen Nolan and Christine Lampard.
As ever, the panel debated and chatted about a variety of subjects including whether food should be labelled with cigarette-style picture warnings. It comes after scientists from Cambridge University released research that suggests labels that detail the risk of illnesses, such as heart disease, will put people off junk food.
Coleen, 57, disagreed that a change in packaging would successfully encourage people to swap unhealthy foods for fruit and veg, but Janet argued more needs to be done in the battle against obesity.

The 71-year-old said pictures of people in the UK enjoying the heatwave this week "would’ve been different" compared to images from 2003, suggesting more people have piled on the pounds. "That wasn't that long ago," Christine argued.
"But if you'd done a picture yesterday of the beaches the story would have been very different," Janet replied. "A lot of young women think that being larger is acceptable," before adding they're "glorifying something that could be shortening their lives."
But the comments didn't go down well with Loose Women viewers. @silentpen tweeted: "That whole conversation was shameful. It’s called fat-shaming because it is shaming & these women just demonstrated why it is now called out, as it should be. #loosewomen."
@SteveFish9 argued back: "Is fat a positive? No. It threatens your health so it should be discouraged. If someone is curvy but over not weight they shouldnt be categorised as fat. Curvy is fine. "Fat" is wrong." While @karmacomesback fumed: "I've waited for over 5 years to get medical and psychological help for being overweight. I have tried everything. Trust me, saying "fashionable" or fat shaming does no good. We are human beings too! Food issues are addictions. Same as drugs and alcohol. How dare you! #loosewomen."
Elsewhere on the show, after the public were urged to keep hydrated during the scorching temperatures, the panel of ladies discuss their own water intake. hydrated and drink lots of clear fluids, today's Loose Women (July 20) saw the panel of ladies discuss their own water intake.
"I do think there's a kind of water worship going on, that's absolutely obscene," Janet fumed. She went on to slam the authorities by saying: "Once again it is the nanny state telling us, holding up that bottle of water."
"You don't need to carry the water around, and I do think that young people are unnecessarily influenced by all these people on social media," she added. "Obsessed with their water journey," she said. Coleen, however, felt the opposite telling her co-stars she became a water convert. "I cannot tell you the difference I felt. My hair was better, my nails were better," she said.
