ITV Loose Women pulled off air as Ruth Langsford issues statement

Fans of ITV's Loose Women were left disappointed after the show was cut short on Tuesday. The show's usual broadcast time was interrupted by a scheduling shake-up at ITV. Loose Women normally airs for an hour each weekday, from 12.30pm.

However, there was a change on Tuesday, June 20, which saw the panellists having to come off air earlier. The panel was hurried as the news followed at 1pm as part of a listings shakeup, Liverpool Echo reports.

Ruth Langsford addressed viewers to explain the change, which was to make way for coverage of the Royal Ascot festival, which will run from 1.30-6pm each day this week on ITV. The Chase and Tipping Point will not be broadcast until Monday, June 26 as they are also impacted.

Ruth, 63, told those watching at home: "This is your Tuesday and it's nice to have your company [but] we are going to have to keep it short and sweet for you today.

"It's just a 30-minute show and we have a lot to pack in so we better get on with it."

Royal Ascot takes place over five days in mid-June every year. Ascot was attended by the late Queen Elizabeth II, who only missed one of the events during her 70 year reign. King Charles III is set to attend each day of the horse racing festival this year.
