ITV Loose Women star Janet Street-Porter shocked her fellow co-stars after taking a dig at Eurovision singer Mae Muller. The Eurovision Song Contest took place in Liverpool, on May 13, with Sweden’s Loreen taking first place. The UK’s entry singer, Mae Muller came second to last.
The 25-year-old singer entered the singing contest with I Wrote A Song, however it failed to impress as she got a total of 24 points. This put the UK ahead of Germany which came last place, reports Manchester Evening News.

Following her performance, the gutted Eurovision star tweeted: "I just want to say thank u x I know I joke a lot but we really put our all into the last few months, not the result we hoped for but so proud of everyone & what we achieved on this journey. Congrats to all the countries, I’ll never forget this journey and I love you all."
On Monday (May 15), the Loose Women panel, Janet Street-Porter, 76, Ruth Langsford, 63, Brenda Edwards, 54 and Judi Love, 42, returned to ITV and had a chat about the Eurovision song contest. Janet poked fun at the UK’s entry as she made a dig that shocked the rest of the panel.
The four panellists were debating the topic of 'Should we take Eurovision more seriously?' when Janet said: "Here in Britain we've got the best technicians, the best lighting, the best costumes.
"The whole package was good and all the little films were really, really good, but then when we came to our song, it was like Lily Allen from about 10 years ago."
A shot then cut to Brenda Edwards as she pulled an awkward face as Judi Love exclaimed: "Wow, wow, wow." The audience could also be heard reacting to Janet's remark.
She then continued: "I mean I'm sorry but...", as Ruth asked: "you didn't think it was Eurovision-ey enough?". Janet then added: "No, even my dog went and had a lie down and turned his back the other way," as the audience laughed. And viewers appeared to agree.

"Styling wasn’t it for Mae and looking like Lily Allen from 10 years ago."
Janet then went on to talk about some of the other Eurovision acts including Sweden winner Loreen. "Her fingernails were kind of like five foot long and she had a plastic nappy on," she said, before Brenda added: “It’s called a jumpsuit.”
Janet also said: "All the men on the show I think felt they had to be more feminine, they had to go a bit more gender neutral, a bit more transient. There were lots of bugle beads, ruffles, frocks and that was just on the blokes."
Viewer @popnvibes tweeted: "Janet street porter moaning that the blokes were feminine on Eurovision…It’s Eurovision… this is when I don’t like wfh #LooseWomen."
