ITV Loose Women panel come together in 'heartwarming' blue tribute to Jamal Edwards

The Loose Women panel had viewers in tears on Thursday afternoon's episode as the ladies came together in unity sporting blue clothing in memory of Brenda Edwards' son Jamal who tragically passed away in February last year at the age of only 31.

In an eye-watering show, the presenters were all wearing royal blue out of respect for Jamal, who lost his life due to a heart attack as a result of recreational drugs.

And it wasn't just Brenda and her co-stars holding back the tears as they reminisced on a touching video tribute during the show and the "extent his love has reached within the community."

Jamal was an ambassador for the Prince's Trust, a youth charity which helps young people set up their own businesses, as well as juggling his music career as DJ and founder of the online R&B/Hip-Hop platform SB.TV.

The video clips gave an update to Brenda and her daughter Tanisha who has been "her rock" following the heartbreaking family death, continuing to carry out Jamal's "outstanding" work.

"This last year has been one big rollercoaster ride and I don't really like rollercoasters," Brenda admitted in the video.

She continued: "But the support we have had has been overwhelming and really nice so it really is bittersweet. I don't really think you can put it into words, its been good to have Tanisha here and we are going through this together.

"I try and not show her when I am upset and she does the same with me but there are times when we are both upset together."

Talking about the relationship between Jamal and music sensation Ed Sheeran, Tanisha added the pair were "like brothers from another mother from the very beginning of Ed's career."

The touching video continued to show heartwarming images and video clips of Jamal and Ed Sheeran, with the new song Ed wrote in the background - on his friendship with Jamal - as a host of other close members of the family spoke of how inspirational he was.

The audience erupted into applause as Brenda was asked by co-stars if she needed a quick break after the emotional segment and she was filmed wiping her eyes as she joked it was why she "didn't want to put lashes on" for the show.

"For everything he [Jamal] has done and everything people have come forward and said he had done for them selflessly without asking for anything back that's what makes it so important for me to carry this on and continue that legacy he started," Brenda said.

Co-star Charlene White said: "The thing about you Brenda I wanna say as your friend without crying is we can see from what Jamal has done and how Tanisha is the love that you give.

"What people don't realise is throughout this year and the pain you have felt you still supported and loved people and that is what we love so much about you."

She continued as she broke into tears how "blessed" they all are to have Brenda in their lives, and that she "is just incredible."

Viewers took to Twitter to share the heartwarming moment. One wrote: "I’m watching this and crying tears such an emotional & amazing tribute to celebrate Jamal - Brenda is a tower of strength and the support from you all is truly a sisterhood."

Another added: "It has been a year already. Lots of comforting blue vibes."

A third fan of the show said: "#RIPJamal watched and cried. You @loosewomen were all so supportive to Brenda."

A fourth chimed: "Aww Brenda sending you and Tanisha a huge hug x Jamal lives on in you both," as they shared a series of blue hearts in solidarity.
