ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers say 'what dimension is this' as they spot Matt Hancock blunder seconds into appearance

It will probably go down as one of the most highly-anticipated episode of the series as I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here viewers finally got to see Matt Hancock enter the jungle.

It was revealed last week that the former health secretary had signed up to the ITV reality show, just days before the launch of the 2022 series which saw the programme return to Australia for the first time in three years.

Matt, who has been suspended by the Tory party in the wake of his controversial signing being revealed, said he was taking part so he can "go to where the people are — not to sit in ivory towers in Westminster."

He made his debut alongside comedian Seann Walsh and comes after co-hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly teed up the arrival of the new campmates during Tuesday night's episode. The Geordie duo also informed the current celebrity contestants of the new arrivals and broke the news that they would be undertaking the next trial.

Matt, 44, took part in the Beastly Burrows challenge with fellow late arrival Seann, 36, during Wednesday evening’s episode. After leaving his fellow campmates somewhat disappointed after securing only six out of 11 stars in the challenge Matt will now face the Tentacles of Terror trial, which is set to air in Thursday night’s show.

After the hosts delivered the new, Matt said: "Do you know what, I just knew it was going to be me and I still felt nervous." It comes after the West Suffolk MP caused a stir as he entered the main camp, with many of the show’s famous faces shocked to see him waltzing from beyond the jungle trees.

But there was a moment a mere few minutes into Matt's first appearance on-screen that caught viewers' attention as he appeared to suffer a bit of a mishap. Seann had already arrived at the Mole Headquarters, a separate camp, shortly before Matt turned up.

And as Matt made his way along the iconic I’m A Celeb rope bridge, he appeared to trip and had to grab onto the rope to balance himself. As expected, it didn't take long for viewers to pick up on the moment and immediately took to social media to comment.

@janinessharon tweeted: "HE NEARLY FELL OFF THE BRIDGE HAAHAHAH this is gonna be brilliant #ImACeleb." @mmaigab wrote: "MATT FALLING ON THE BRIDGE 2 SECONDS IN #ImACeleb." @hayleyw_journo posted: "Oh my god already cringing at the way he stumbled over that bridge… what an entrance #ImACeleb."

@mishybabez_ shared: "Matt nearly slipped on the bridge I'm laughing so much #ImACeleb." @aintgottime4tha typed: "Going to replay Matt Hancock attempting crossing the bridge over in my head forever #ImACeleb."

Referencing other moments upon his arrival, @hev626 screamed: "MATT HANCOCK SLIPPING OFF THE BRIDGE THEN SEANN LAUGHING IN HIS FACE BEFORE MATT SINGS ED SHEERAN I'M CRYING WHAT ALTERNATE DIMENSION IS THIS #ImACeleb." @MagicKeewee echoed: "Matt Hancock almost tripping on the #ImACeleb bridge and then singing on live TV is iconic in the most cringe worthy way possible."

@CourtneyxAnna added: "This has to be the most surreal piece of tv I’ve watched in a while. Matt Hancock falling on a bridge then belting out Perfect by Ed Sheeran?! Nah I can’t cope #ImACeleb."
