ITV I'm a Celebrity's Mike Tindall launches his own range of budgie smugglers after being mocked in the jungle

Mike Tindall has launched his own line of budgy smugglers for charity after sporting brightly-coloured swimwear during his time on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here. The 44-year-old former England rugby player, who came fourth in the ITV series at the weekend, caught viewers’ attention when he wore the tight and colourful trunks as he took a dip in the pool in the Australian jungle.

His new limited edition trunks, created in collaboration with his team from The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast, feature two jungle-inspired designs with the cheeky slogans 'These are not my wife’s' and the other with 'Nibble my nuts'. This is slogan is a nod to the story he told about the time he did a sl*t drop in front of his mother-in-law Princess Anne and split his tight flares at his wife Zara's 30th birthday party.

Mike recalled: “Ripped my trousers, straight in front of her. It happened to be that my boxers that I had on at that time said 'nibble my nuts'.”

All profits from the budgy smugglers will go towards Cure Parkinson’s to help fund research into the condition. Mike has previously discussed the devastating effect Parkinson’s disease has had on his father Philip, who was diagnosed in 2003.

According to the NHS website, Parkinson’s disease is a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years. The charity range is available from the Budgy Smugglers UK website, with the description: “Wrap a bit of the Australian Jungle around you and dive right in” adding “Made in Australia, Inspired by Mike."

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Monday, he addressed whether he knew how many members of the royal family had been watching him. He said: “No, I don’t right now but I’m sure I’ll find out at some point, Christmas is around the corner. We will see if some interesting gifts come underneath that tree. I don’t know.

“There’s some sense of humour kicking around in the family. So yeah, I’ll wait for some interesting gifts and see how many people were watching.”

Asked whether he knew if the Princess Royal had watched him recall his trouser-splitting incident on national TV, he replied: “No, I don’t think she was watching but I think Zara might have told her. “But I’m pretty sure it’s probably etched into her memory banks for all the wrong reasons. So yeah, I’ll probably bashfully hide away from that one.”

Mike took I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here viewers by surprise with his own iconic 'shower scene' moment as he joined campmate Jill Scott, who was eventually crowned Queen of the Jungle, for a swim. As he headed down in his towel, fans were not expecting Mike to remove the cover-up to unveil a pair of multi-coloured trunks.

And I'm A Celeb hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly couldn't resist wondering what Mike's wife Zara, who is the late Queen's granddaughter and 20th in line to the throne, would make of his swimwear. Ant quipped: "I'll tell you what did come as a shock was when Mike pulled that towel off. What? What about that swimwear? Wow-wee."

He continued: "I wonder what Zara will be thinking about that". But Dec wasted no time in brutally mocking the ex-rugby ace, commenting: "I know exactly what Zara will be thinking, she will be thinking, 'That's where my bikini bottoms are, I've been looking for them.'

@lattewhxre posted: "It’s not everyday you seen ex England rugby captain and Princess Anne’s son in law, Mike Tindall in his speedos on national television, but first time for everything. #ImACeleb." @befuddledshaz wrote: "#ImACeleb Sorry but those bikini bottoms of Mike’s mean he really needs to do the next trial. #givemattarest."

@Tay_Glampunx shared: "Mike in the speedos has made my night #ImACeleb." @_Normski wrote: "Imma gonna need a clip of Mike Tindall removing that towel and going into the water in those speedos... #ImACeleb." Even Dominos UK added: "They're already dealing with scorpions, snakes and rats, the last thing the camp needs is a Mike smuggling budgies in #ImACeleb."
