ITV I'm A Celebrity fans praise 'winner Seann Walsh for 'epic' move during Mike Tindall chat after concern

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here viewers were left giggling as Seann Walsh performed an 'epic' diversion when the chat in camp appeared to get too political for his liking. There has been plenty of chat about the goings on in government due to Matt Hancock's appearance in the jungle.

The former health secretary ruffled feathers when he was revealed as a late addition to the ITV reality show's 2022 line-up. And Matt, who has been suspended from the Tory party for taking part in the hit programme, also faced a grilling from his campmates about why he wanted to take part in the show and about the Covid guidance break which lead to his resignation.

The political chat also returned during Tuesday night's installment of I'm A Celeb Matt, 44, candidly shared his opinions on the current state of UK politics before once again dodging the next Bushtucker trial after having to complete six in a row.

During a discussion among the celebrity contestants about missing the news back in the UK, presenter and property expert Scarlette Douglas said: "I wonder if Rishi’s still in power," to which Matt replied: "Yeah, he will be." Talk then turned to former Prime Ministers as Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver asked Matt for his opinion on the short-lived premiership of Liz Truss.

"What do you think went wrong, Matt?" she asked. Matt replied: "In a way they were unlucky, in that globally interest rates all went up just at the time that they were also… bringing in a financial statement where you say, ‘We’re going to do all these expensive things and we’re not going to say how we’re going to pay for them’,” said Hancock.

When Sue queried: "Where does that leave her now?" Matt responded: "Her political career is over. No ambiguity at all." Loose Women star and ITV News broadcaster Charlene White also joined in on quizzing, asking the MP for West Suffolk: "Why do you think Tory party members went for the less experienced…"

Matt said: "I think that’s all about how Boris (Johnson) got kicked out. It was all about people seeing Rishi as wielding the knife against Boris." Charlene then continued to ask: "So they decided to, one could argue, punish the entire country, by putting someone in place who was less experienced?"

To which Matt replied: "That implies a malign motive, which isn’t fair. But they definitely put the disloyalty to Boris as a negative, as a bigger factor than…" Comedian Seann Walsh, who was also a late arrival to the jungle along with Matt, then asked: "Were you a Boris diehard?" to which he responded: "Look, I was very supportive of him, but it was time. When it was time to go, it was time to go."

Later, during a chat with Seann, Mike Tindall proved the conversation was weighing on his mind as the former rugby star said: "I just think all politicians are f*****s." He continued: "I mean for them to even have the conversation just because they're all Boris fans that didn't like how Boris was ousted that you won't pick the best person for the job, that just sums politicians up."

It comes as members of The Royal Family often remain politically neutral and refrain from discussing politics in public and Mike is the husband of Zara Phillips, the daughter of Princess Anne and eldest grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II. And it appears Seann was uncomfortable.

After a silent pause, the 36-year-old asked Mike: "Have you ever lit a fart," while starring at the camp fire. Mike laughed and wondered what inspired his question before giving him a firm 'no' in response. But it appears I'm A Celeb viewers were a fan of Seann's tactics.

@gary_massingham said: "Seann has been great, always there to deflect." @agiannesocha wrote after a string of crying laughing emojis: "Epic... THAT is how you change the subject gently." @dee.shanelle commented: "Flipping LOVE Seann …. ended the politics conversation with a fart!!!"

@lisaxphillipsx shared: "Well done Seann. A conversation about wind is the only way to deal with Mike Tindall." @laramariefuller posted: "Sean is my winner bless him never involved in drama and makes his own mind up about people." @kimmyannjames_86 typed: "Love Sean he's not to faced and don't wanna get involved bless him. Would love him to win." @beverleyoninsta added: "Good one Seann. I love how you won't be drawn into talking about people behind their back's."

It comes after Seann sparked concern earlier in the week. I'm A Celeb viewers took to social media to ask if the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant was "okay". It came after he was seen looking unsteady on his feet and stumbling around the camp, appearing not to be fully awake as the camp rose for another day in the jungle.

@LifeofShareene tweeted: "Nah Seann looks more tired than Matt who was basically buried alive. I don’t understand what’s going on! #ImACeleb." @xjade_xo asked: "Is Sean okay? #ImACeleb," alongside a GIF of someone stumbling and falling over.
