ITV I'm A Celebrity fans defend show over 'ridiculous' element after being distracted by Ant McPartlin

Some fans of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here have been defending the show amid a recurring complaint. The hit ITV reality show has only been back on screen for a matter of days and there has already been one exit and there's set to be two new arrivals.

During the latest trip to the jungle, tensions started to brew and Boy George said Charlene White was "very controlling" as the pair clashed over cooking. The contestants were given kangaroo sausages for their dinner, with lady fingers for dessert, in the latest programme.

Taking charge of the preparation, Loose Women star Charlene White said of the sausages: “Slice them small and stir fry them with the spring onions.” Speaking in Bush Telegraph, where stars can share their thoughts with viewers in private, Scarlette Douglas jokingly described the camp as "Charlene’s kitchen".

But actions clearly rubbed Culture Club star Boy George up the wrong way as he said in the Bush Telegraph: "It’s so weird, that [food] bag comes down and Charlene just turns into an entirely different person. "It's amazing, she issues orders and tells everyone what to do. I’m like, 'Wow'. You know, it’s like, 'Who are you?'" He added: "Charlene she just issues orders. For me as an observer of my own feelings, it’s mind-blowing."

@bevvo_vg tweeted: "Jaysus ant looks like a chef in that jacket #ImACeleb." @ghughesy88 commented: "Why is Ant dressed like a chef? #ImACeleb @antanddec." And it obviously caused a reaction for other reasons as fans appeared to like it.

Meanwhile, comedian Babatunde Aleshe reacted to the public voting for him to face a Bushtucker Trial called Horrifying Heights. Speaking to hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, Aleshe joked why the public picked him: "Because they’re evil. I clearly proved to them that I don’t like heights."

The Celebrity Gogglebox star was inevitable chosen by the public following the launch episode in which he was challenged to walk to the edge of the plank 334ft in the air but backed out while Charlene and former England footballer Jill Scott completed the task.

During the latest challenge, he earned nine out of nine stars, getting nine meals for the camp. Former Lioness Jill and Hollyoaks’ Owen Warner also won a night in the more comfortable sleeping place of the RV. But a complaint about the show returned.

I'm A Celeb viewers aren't a fan of the frequent breaks throughout the show on ITV. Carl Dyke wrote on Facebook: "Think we've spent as much time watching adverts as we have I'm A Celebrity. Ridiculous amount of ads - and oh chuck in a competition too and spend less time covering I'm A Celeb."

Paula Connick echoed: "So sick of all the ads." But as the complaints come in, some spoke out in the programme's defence. Sam Carrod wrote on Facebook: "How many people are gonna moan about the adverts. Just tape it, start watching after 30 mins and skip them. This warming up to be a great series."

Meanwhile, I'm A Celeb fans became distracted by Ant's change in attire. Whilst his co-host Dec appeared to host the show in polo shirt under a black jack, Ant opted for an eye-catching white jacket and a black pair of trousers.

And it appears viewers had the same thought. @Sarrae1984 wrote: "Oooh, loving that white jacket Ant’s wearing! @antanddec #imaceleb." @alicedenicejohn commented: "Love the jacket ant #ImaCeleb." @gavininskip joked: "I’ve reached the age where I see this and I don’t think…. ‘Wow that’s a nice white jacket’ I think…… ‘Bloody hell, if @antanddec spills his coffee on that it’ll be a right bugger to get out’ #GettingOld #ImACeleb."
