ITV I'm A Celebrity fans blast 'predictable' show saying campmate getting all limelight

ITV I'm A Celebrity fans have branded the show 'predictable' as they reckon one particular campmate is getting all the limelight.

The reality show, which returned to our screens and the Australian jungle last week, has already seen celebrities take on gruelling bush tucker trials as they settle into camp life. 80s icon Boy George, journalist Charlene White and radio DJ Chris Moyles are among the stars taking part in the series this year.

But on Wednesday night campmates got a shock when two new members, MP Matt Hancock and comedian Seann Walsh, entered the jungle. Matt, the former Health Secretary, was suspended as a Tory MP following his decision to sign up to the ITV show.

And he has come under fire since his arrival with stars giving him a grilling on subjects from the coronavirus pandemic restrictions and scandals to his affair with his aide - and now girlfriend - Gina Coladangel. So far, Matt has been voted by the public to take on two bush tucker trails.

But he and Seann had their own special task to face as they first entered the jungle, which saw them crawl through sludge and insects to find stars. Friday night's episode (November 11) saw the Suffolk MP take on the first eating challenge of the series alongside Boy George.

The pair were set to eat a variation of gruesome grub at La Cucaracha Cafe, meaning the Cockroach cafe in Spanish. Matt devoured everything from fish eyes and a camel's penis to a cow's anus, while Boy George ate blended duck eggs and fermented tofu.

By the end of Friday's episode, hosts Ant and Dec revealed that Matt would be facing his fourth challenge, Silly On Air - a gruesome take on quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - this time with Hollyoaks star Owen Warner. But there was a new twist too, as the hosts confirmed it wouldn't be just the two contestants making their way to the trial area, but that the whole camp would be able to watch.

Not everyone was amused at Matt being voted to do another task, with many branding the show as 'predictable.' People took to Twitter to share their thoughts, as some hoped the other celebrities would get a chance to try the trials.

@molly_garlick said: "I’m a celeb is predictable now Matt is in another trial #ImACeleb" as @ajdurrant complained: "Every darn year, the public are miserably predictable and unfunny when it comes to I’m A Celeb voting".

@stewartfisher added: "Can someone that watches I’m a Celeb tell me when I can vote Hancock out the show and out the limelight" while @rlarkinho penned: "Voting Matt Hancock for every trial now is boring!!!"

Twitter user @tina_belfield expressed: "I do hope other people on I'm a celebrity get to do a trail not just matt Hancock all the time x" while @LindaLaker4 echoed: "The public are giving him air time….it’s the Matt Hancock show. I really feel for the others who would love to do some trials."

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on ITV on Saturday at 9pm
