This Morning's Holly Willoughby has returned to the ITV show with co host Phillip Schofield, but has suggested that the shows aren’t live. Fans have hit out at This Morning being pre-recorded.
Hosts Holly and Phillip confirmed to viewers weeks ago that they would be taking time off during Christmas, saying they would be back on TV for a Christmas Day special episode.
While the duo has recently returned to the ITV morning show, Holly has all but confirmed that she and Phillip aren't actually in the studio in real time, due to her 'silence' on Instagram, reports Chronicle Live.
Those who follow Holly on Instagram will be familiar with her posting a backstage photo everyday in her outfit from the show. But, since returning to This Morning this week, there's been a lack of behind the scenes pictures. The last snap being on Christmas Day as she posted a selfie with some Quality Streets “Ya Filthy animals…Merry Christmas.”
Holly and Phillip were seen hosting This Morning again on Thursday, right after a 'highlights' episode of Lorraine aired on ITV.
Fans were quick to complain about the programme being pre-recorded. The usual segment of discussing the day's big news stories was a look back at previous things that happened in the year.
One person took to twitter and said: "Bit difficult for them to discuss today's news when it was recorded a week or so ago," another person said: "Why we need pre-recorded shows until January? Just have a break!
The presenting duo did try to keep up that they were live, discussing the Christmas decorations in the studio wanting to ‘cling onto Christmas’ while talking to Davina McCall, however, the episode was likely filmed weeks ago.
