ITV Good Morning Britain viewers spot Kate Garraway's sweet tribute to Queen after it causes distraction

Good Morning Britain viewers think they have spotted Kate Garraway's tribute to the Queen during her latest TV appearance. After spending time outside Buckingham Palace, the presenter was back in the ITV news programme's studio on Friday (September 16) alongside Ben Shephard.

The pair were continuing to share the latest news and updates surrounding the Queen lying in state and her upcoming funeral. The show had reporters out and about after it was reported queue times to Westminster Hall for well-wishers to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II had reached 14 hours.

They were also joined by various guests covering all aspects of the Queen's death and King Charles III becoming monarch. Rev Richard Coles spoke about how the Queen's death will have a huge impact on the whole country and will touch everyone while also suggesting Queen Elizabeth should be remembered as 'Queen Elizabeth the Dutiful'.

Ben and Kate also spoke to London Mayor Sadiq Khan about plans for Monday's state funeral after further details were released. He told the hots that all the key organisations responsible for managing the Queen's funeral have been 'working for years' to prepare for the unfortunate event and London will not be at 'full capacity' after fears the capital will be overrun with people.

But as the presenters pressed on with the show, some GMB viewers couldn't help but comment on Kate's choice of attire. As has been the case for the last week, Ben and Kate both appeared in black outfits as a sign of respect during the period of national mourning which began at midnight last Friday, hours after the Queen's death was confirmed by Buckingham Palace.

As well as wearing a black long-sleeved dress with ruched shoulders on the live show, Kate was also wearing a thick pearl necklace which ITV viewers believed was a subtle tribute to the late monarch, who died 'peacefully' at Balmoral, her Scottish Highalnds home, aged 96.

@Roy_the_boyo asked: "Is K Garraway wearing her pearls in honour of the Queen? #GMB." @MuirofCelt tweeted: "Nice to see Kate wearing a pearl necklace #GMB." @ashleeeeeighhhh added: "Kate Garraway looks absolutely beautiful this morning on @GMB."

But it did also cause a bit of bother. @wwfcbadrad posted: "Dear Ms Garraway, her majesty would have never got her pearls in a twist, sort them out love #gmb." @Itt39354118 tweeted: "Wish someone would put Kate's necklace right #gmb."

Earlier this week, GMB viewers were full of praise for Kate and issued a demand to ITV. In a rare move, ITV chose to bring in its usual weekday presenters, including Kate, Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, to cover the historic event on rare Saturday and Sunday episodes of the news programme, which is usually on air Monday to Friday between 6am and 9am.

While Ben and Susanna hosted Saturday's show, with Kate back at Buckingham Palace as mourners headed to the Queen's central London home to pay their respects and leave tributes, Kate was back in the studio on Sunday. Kate was joined by various guests during the episode before the Queen's coffin began its journey to London from Balmoral, starting with a stop in Edinburgh.

But as Kate hosted the show solo, fans were making a demand on social media. @ShellzJackson was one of those who tweeted: "Chose Kate Garraway for Her Majesty’s final journey coverage. I feel like I’ve done the right thing. BBC is the norm, but I don’t feel I’ve don’t [sic] wrong choosing Kate.
