Susanna Reid jokingly said she was 'nervous' to speak to Lorraine Kelly after fans saw her in a whole new light over the weekend. The presenter was back at the helm of Good Morning Britain on Monday (November 21) alongside Richard Madeley when they were joined late into the programme by Lorraine.
She, as ever, was on hand to tease what was coming up on her self-titled ITV show, which airs directly after GMB at 9am. But as she introduced her fellow ITV star, Susanna said: "I'm a little bit nervous of what you might say, Lorraine." She then explained why as on Friday night (November 18), Lorraine appeared in a sketch for BBC's Children in Need.
The ITV presenter left a host of famous faces lost for words in the skit aired during the charity's big telethon which saw more than £35 million raised. The comic clip – which was also shown on Lorraine's self-titled daytime show on Friday before being shown during the BBC One appeal show – also featured Peter Andre, Deborah Meaden, Natalie Cassidy and, of course, Pudsey Bear.
During the skit, which is set in a Children In Need office, actor Lenny Rush speaks to the camera and expresses his delight at what a wonderful employee Lorraine is. “One person who is not giving me any trouble at all this year is Lorraine Kelly," he said. "She’s one of the loveliest people on TV."
The clip then cut to show the 62-year-old TV star speaking kindly to someone on the phone, before she asked them to "hold on a wee second". And then to the surprise of her fellow office staff, Lorriane launched into an expletive-laden rant across the room, during which the swearing was beeped out and her mouth covered by a cartoon Pudsey logo.
"That's so generous! Actually, could you just hold on a wee second, poppet? Just hold on for me for a minute," she said. "[Beep] How many times have I told you [beep] to shut up? Honest to [beep] shut up [beep] shut up! I cannot concentrate on what I'm [beep] doing here!"
Then, as a life-sized Pudsey Bear appeared from around the corner, Lorraine redirected her anger to the BBC Children In Need mascot, before returning to her caller in her usual kind and gentle manner. And during the comical rant, various celebrities who are also taking calls around the office react, with singer Peter being the first to respond as he spat out his glass of water in shock.
On the latest episode of GMB, they showed a clip of the skit as Lorraine giggled in her neighboring ITV studio. "That wasn't the end of was it, Lorraine?" Susanna said after the clip came to an end. "No it wasn't," the sheepish host replied. "I told Pudsey to [Bleep] off. I mean, that's the worst thing that you could ever do."
"How could you?" Susanna, 51, then jokingly asked before Richard let viewers on a little behind the scenes secret. "Excuse me, I was there watching you being filmed as I was doing my bit and you really were saying all those words." He then joked it was "shocking" to which Lorraine agreed before swiftly moving on to the matter at hand, which was to share with viewers what she had coming up on her show.
