ITV Good Morning Britain's Richard Madeley rips in to Prince Harry over 'dreadful' acting

Richard Madeley didn't hold back with his opinions as he ripped into Prince Harry's 'dreadful' acting skills. The presenter made his comments on Good Morning Britain as he returned to the show on Tuesday (May 10) after being replaced by Martin Lewis on Monday.

He was back alongside Susanna Reid and one of the topics of conversation was that of Harry who has appeared in a new advert. It shows him being filmed going for a run, while wearing a 'Girl Dad' T-shirt, where he is ambushed by "rating agents" and engages in an awkward conversation with them before being rescued.

He was joined by actors Rhys Darby, Dave Fane and Rena Owen in the sketch for his not-for-profit travel company, Travalyst. But Richard, 65, was savage with his thoughts.

Starting up the conversation on GMB, the TV star said: "This Prince Harry video. Shall we see a bit more? This is not going to get him a Bafta." After they played a clip of the advert, Richard continued "I think this headline sums it up: 'The Oscar for more toe-curling acting goes to Prince Hammy.'

"It is dreadful, isn’t it? How did they even let that out?" he added as his co-star jumped to the Duke of Sussex's defence. Susanna, 51, said: "He's promoting something which is green and eco-conscious and really important, which is how it's not just promoting travel companies and what they're doing to save the environment.

"It's all about rating travellers and as you heard from that, it got the point across! I understand exactly what he’s saying. The number of towels you use, whether you leave the tap running…"

According to the company's website, the "partnership" is led by Prince Harry and incorporates Booking.com, Expedia Group, Google, Skyscanner, Trip.com Group, Tripadvisor and Visa.

The non-profit is said to "promote the systemic changes needed in order for sustainable travel to be taken out of the niche, and into the mainstream".

In the clip, Harry, 37, is seen jogging through a park before comedian Rhys Darby chases after him, yelling "Harry! Hazza! H!" Darby then accuses the prince of littering while on a trip to New Zealand in 2018 and while Harry doesn't react, Darby then jokes: "It might have been a confusing time, it was windy."

Harry responds: "I don’t think it was confusing. It was an incredible time. We had an amazing time in New Zealand. It’s beautiful." Prince Harry is due to speak on the TV programme Ta Ao with Moana, with host and presenter Moana Maniapoto, with the interview airing this morning.
