ITV Good Morning Britain's Richard Madeley calls out 'rudest' A-List celebrity he's interviewed in 50-year career

Richard Madeley has named and shamed an A-Lister that he claims is the 'rudest' celebrity he's ever interviewed in his 50-year-long career. The TV presenter was back at the helm of Good Morning Britain on Monday (March 6) after a two week hiatus.

The ITV host today revealed that it was a 'freak accident' that caused him to take a break from the show. Richard, 66, explained that whilst his car door hit him in the face, he had bitten down on his tongue and had to have stitches in it, leaving him with a bit of a 'lisp'.

But it was during his return when the presenter, who enjoyed a stint on I'm A Celebrity in 2021, revealed a celebrity who he had had a rude encounter with. Whilst hosting with Susanna Reid, the pair got into a topical discussion about the comedian Chris Rock.

It comes as Chris, 58, has recently spoken about being slapped by Will Smith on stage at the Oscars last March in his new live Netflix comedy special.

Whilst hosting the 2022 Academy Awards, the comedian took a jibe at Will Smith's marriage with Jada Pinkett Smith, to which the actor came on stage and slapped him.

Talking about the incident, Chris Rock joked: "People are like, 'Did it hurt?' It still hurts! I got Summertime ringing in my ears," referring to Will Smith's 1991 single.

But Richard has now outed Chris Rock for being the 'rudest' celebrity he's ever interviewed during his lengthy career.

The presenter revealed he and his wife Judy had interviewed Chris and Ben Stiller in promotion for the Madagascar movie.

Speaking on Monday, Richard said: "Well I am sorry but I've got limited sympathy for Chris Rock. I am not defending what happened to him it was wrong, clearly.

"But in 50 years in this game, he is the rudest man I have ever had to interview. I interviewed him along with Ben Stiller, they did the voices for Madagascar the animated movie, and I have to say it stands out in my memory.

"He was just consistently, unbelievably rude."
