ITV Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh confirms co-star's last day after shake-up

Ranvir Singh made a return to Good Morning Britain where she confirmed that it was her co-star's last day after another week of presenting shake-ups. The host was back at the helm of the ITV programme on Friday (August 19) with Paul Brand.

The ITV News UK editor made his presenting debut on the show on Thursday (August 18) alongside Kate Garraway. After welcoming him onto the show, Paul quickly replied: "I think I'm punching here, Kate." But his giggling co-host replied: "You're really not," before continuing: "We're normally talking to you here in the studio about all the amazing things that you've done and brought to everyone's attention with your brilliant journalism but now you're back presenting GMB."

A montage of some of the huge news stories Paul has reported on later played out showing him speaking to various GMB stars about the stories which have gripped the public over the last couple of years. After the short clip came to an end, Kate said: "I think we're punching," as Paul joked: "I feel like I'm on This Is Your Life of something.

And Paul was back for the last GMB of the week but Ranvir had an announcement to share. She kicked off the show saying: "Morning Paul. We've known each other for a long time." He replied: "Good Morning Ranvir. We have, which is lovely about today because we're actually great friends off-screen as well."

However, Ranvir then said: "But I realise it's your last and second day of your stint." Paul confirmed: "Yes, two days this week. I've had a great time over the past couple of days."

And it appears he gained a few fans while sitting in the hot seat. @Jenny_crayon tweeted: "Paul Brand doing wonders for #gmb." @rambeus said: "Let Ranvir Singh and Paul Brand host everyday #GMB." @B4Baldy added: "@GMB Welcome Paul Brand, such a breath of fresh air this morning."

But during his appearance on Thursday's show, some viewers felt he had 'let himself down'. Among the topics they tackled on Thursday's show (August 18) was the rail strikes which are continuing to cause travel chaos across the country. The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union boss Mick Lynch appeared via video link, live from the picket line outside Euston station.

Paul ended up quizzing Mr Lynch on his "six-figure salary" with the wage denied by the union boss. But Paul tried to get to the point of his question, saying he wasn't trying to 'demonise' him over his salary while those who he represents take home less.

@realTinaTeapot tweeted: "This Paul Brand fella let himself down, firstly stating that Mick Lynch is on a six figure salary which is wrong, then saying that he doesn't want to demonise him for It. What was the point of saying it then? Don't get your info from outlets that are trying to demonise him #GMB."

@Waynebe66 commented: "@PaulBrandITV cheap shot at Mick Lynch ‘having a 6 figure salary’ Paul Brand tarnishing all the good reporting he’s done in the past #GMB." @WarrenPeace_75 argued: "WTF has Mick Lynch's salary got to to with anything? #GMB."
