Kate Garraway was taken aback by the way her son mourned The Queen's death.
The nation is in mourning after Queen Elizabeth II died yesterday afternoon aged 96. Today's edition of Good Morning Britain was dedicated to Her Majesty's legacy.
Susanna Reid fronted the programme alongside Ben Shephard as they looked back at The Queen's reign and decades of service to the UK. Kate was on location at Buckingham Palace as she spoke to families visiting Her Majesty's official residence to pay respects.

Kate shares two children with her husband, Derek Draper. She was proud as she revealed her 13-year-old son, William, paid his respects.
She said: "I just found out a few minutes ago that my son, Bill, went to school today all dressed in black. I didn't know that he'd really taken in what had happened.
"There he is at 13 years old and, completely on his own, felt moved to do that. I think that's the feeling everyone here has had." The broadcasters on today's show were all dressed in black as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II.
Susanna was emotional as she lauded The Queen for stepping in whenever the country needed her. She cited her speech at the start of the coronavirus pandemic as a moment which brought the nation together in a time of need.
She said: "It was the beginning of the lockdown. Everyone was thrown by something none of us had experienced. Nothing as significant since wartime.
"She did the speech that we all needed to watch and she and she reflected the words of Vera Lynn that we would be together again. So many people felt isolated and alone - and The Queen was there."
