ITV Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway admits to being 'frazzled' as she gets ready for Christmas in family update

Kate Garraway appears to have admitted to being 'frazzled' as she gets ready for Christmas with her family. The Good Morning Britain presenter took to Instagram as she revealed at being able to transport a 6ft Christmas tree all the way home in her car boot.

Sharing a series of snaps to the social media platform on Tuesday, Kate 55, could be seen posing in front of her car, aka 'Percy the Peugeot', as she gleefully gripped onto the festive staple.

"So they say it takes a village to raise a child .. but how many does it take to 'raise' a Christmas tree," the TV and radio star started to type alongside her post.

She went on to mock their, successful, efforts to transport their festive fur from the shop to their home by writing: "Well in my case (altogether now sing along)… 5 exasperated shop workers, 4 helpful neighbours, 3 frazzled parents, 2 over excited kids & NOT a partridge in a pear tree, but a #peugeot308sw with a surprisingly large boot."

"Even my own mother didn’t believe I could get a 6 foot tree in but I knew my Percy Peugeot wouldn’t let me down!! Swipe right to see finished result!" Kat then added: "So worth it to see the kids so happy - at last ready for #christmas - well 'ish'."

The final photo showed the decorated tree in the family's London home with Kate and husband Derek Draper's children Darcey and Billy posing in front of it. And fans were quick to comment on the post as they thought about the family's battle due to Derek's ill health in the last few years.

@olwynwainwright said: "I personally don’t know you Kate but what an awesome strong beautiful woman an inspiration to others . Wishing you and your beautiful family a safe and happy Christmas." @lowryjulia98 wrote: "I salute you Kate what a fine job you did..A great tree two beautiful kids and not a partridge in the pear tree."

@anonajones123 replied: "Well done. Kate Enjoy your Christmas & May Derek’s health improve in the New Year." @ste.poole1 wrote: "Bless you and your sweet kids. All the best to you all." @davies9372 added: "Obviously it would fit in as you always find a way xxxx keep going Kate xxx Happy Christmas and a huge wish a healthy happy 2023."

During a recent appearance on ITV's Lorraine, Kate shared how Derek had finally returned home after another setback in his recovery after suffering serious complications as a result of contracting Covid in March 2020.

"You know, it is an onslaught — it is a long onslaught," Kate told Lorraine Kelly about Derek's recovery. "I can see he has better days; he has worse days — he's thankfully at home now. It's been a long battle to get him back home again. I think it's very tough on him but it's very tough on the people around me."

Appearing alongside GMB co-star Ben Shephard, Kate added: "All jokes aside, Ben for all his unbelievable cheek, has been extraordinary because I can't help think all the people around me, people at GMB and radio as well, must be fed up to the back teeth. That is the problem I think if you are caring or have a long-term situation."
