GMB presenter Richard Madeley discussed sex among the over 65s in today's show after vegetable-themed condom packets have been produced to encourage them to wear them.
Richard said that a recent survey found that nearly half of over 65s say that their favourite pastime is having sex. The TV presenter said that the same survey found that sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are on the rise among that same age group, adding over 65s are getting more STIs than anyone who is younger.
GMB co-host Susanna Reid then said: "So, to try and help the over 65s practice safer sex, Relate have created a series of vegetable-themed condom packet designs under the banner of the Hornicultural Society."

Mr Madeley then showed the packets on the screen as he laughed. Speaking to the next guest, the TV presenter said on this issue: "With over 65s, there is no question of anyone getting pregnant - it doesn't occur to them to use a condom, because it doesn't occur to them that there is any risk.
"That is the problem and that is why these things are being introduced. Makes kind of sense doesn't it surely?"
But his guest journalist Cosmo Landesman disagreed, adding over 65s shouldn't be made to feel anxious about having sex.
"Most people over 65s that have sex will have nice sex and that will be the end of the story," he said. "You don't need to instil fear in them saying 'you always have to wear a condom'.
"No one wants to wear a condom when they are having sex."
To which Mr Madeley said: "But you see, that is the point - the figures are showing that it is not the end of the story. That some of them are going to have to go down to the GP to get antibiotics because they got an infection."
