ITV GMB host Martin Lewis fights tears as he's 'thrown off' by Ukrainian girl

ITV Good Morning Britain presenter Martin Lewis was seen holding in his emotion as the show gave an update on Ukrainian girl Amelia who went viral on the internet for her Disney singing.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, the ITV show gave an update on Amelia, who captured the hearts of the world when she sang Disney's Frozen song 'Let It Go' as she sheltered in a bomb bunker in Ukraine.

Good news was given as it was revealed Amelia is now in Poland with her grandmother and siblings after fleeing her homeland as Russia's invasion of the country continues.

On Sunday evening, Amelia sang to thousands at the Atlas Arena in Łódź with a performance of the Ukranian national anthem, after her short clip went viral online.

GMB host Susanna said: "Now you will remember that two weeks ago seven-year-old Amelia was singing that iconic song from Frozen in a bunker sheltering from the bombardment in Kyiv.

"Last night little Amelia, who is now in safety in Poland, sang the Ukrainian national anthem as she opened a major charity concert for her country.

"It's a little bit of light and hope isn't it in a sea of darkness."

As Martin went on to speak about Bradley Walsh and his friend Marcus Costello who is a car dealer and is spending £5,000 of his own money every day to help house 150 Ukrainians refugees in Poland, he choked up with emotion.

Martin continued: "The real hero has paid for hotel accommodation... sorry. I was so lost by the little girl. I remember going through a period where my little girl was singing Let it Go and she wasn't doing it in a bunker.

"I was quite moved. I just got distracted for a moment."

Susanna replied: "It throws you doesn't it?" to which Martin agreed: "It does."

Susanna continued: "The bravery of a little girl and to be able to do that after everything she's been through.."

Martin added: "Just quite stunning and you're right, a shining light, a true star in the real sense of the word."

The segment then moved on to introduce Marcus who appeared via video link in Krakow while The Chase host Bradley spoke from Essex.

But the emotion was still sitting in the studio, as many around the world open their doors and hearts to the Ukranians fleeing their home.

Amelia performed at the concert, titled Together with Ukraine, with some of the biggest names in Ukraine and Poland in aid of Polish Humanitarian Action.

The seven-year-old had earlier told BBC Breakfast she wanted to thank people who "enjoyed my singing". She said: "I practise singing every day in the morning, afternoon and evening... it has always been my dream to sing."

ITV's Good Morning Britain resumes on Wednesday, March 23, and each weekday from 6am onwards.
