ITV GMB fans fear for journalist in Ukraine as report cut short amid safety talk

ITV Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has had to reassure viewers that a journalist based in Ukraine is safe, as the video line to Rohit Kachroo was cut short on Wednesday morning.

Global security editor Rohit, was reporting live from the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, amidst the war occuring between the country and Russia, as reported by the Mirror.

Fellow presenter Adil Ray asked Rohit about how he was feeling on his own safety in the war-torn city of Kyiv, when the video line was cut short.

As Rohit spoke about how he was feeling luckier than most due to his protective equipment, the technical difficulties meant that he disappeared from screen and left viewers worried for his safety.

They quickly got Rohit back, as the presenters didn't want to leave the call at Rohit discussing his safety for the line to be cut short after.

As Rohit explained the reasoning behind his calmness in the city, he showed off his helmet and vest, as he mentioned that many people still left in the capital didn't have any sort of protection.

Explaining how he felt so "lucky" to be supplied with the protective gear, the picture cut again with Rohit's name moving around on the screen before that disappeared too.

After this, the presenters continued with the show - as Susanna later reassured viewers: "Just to reassure our viewers, Rohit is fine. It was just a technical hitch but he's fine."

This was not the only techinical hitch for the ITV channel, as competition guru Andi Peters was forced to present from his phone as the camera equipment all failed in Bristol.

Andi was presenting the competition segment live from Bristol on the ITV show today when a technical error with the show's equipment forced him to resort to broadcasting live from his mobile phone.

He had been appearing live throughout the show to give fans a chance to win a huge amount of money, but during the final segment during today's morning show, he had to use his phone to show off the stunning surroundings at Hotel du Vin Avon Gorge.

Addressing what happened, he said: "It's Wednesday morning, it's 8.48. You're watching Good Morning Britain. That is the Clifton Suspension bridge here in Bristol and I've got a chance for you to win a huge prize.

"I've gone a bit rogue. Our technology, which is all over here, has all broken down, so I'm just doing it on my phone - why not? It's been two years since we went into lockdown and it feels like lockdown again.

"How do you fancy £100,000? It's probably all reversed and the wrong way round!"

ITV's Good Morning Britain will resume on Thursday, March 24 and each weekday from 6am onwards.
