Emmerdale viewers said "don't tell me" as they were convinced they had worked out an upcoming twist.
This week's final visit to the Yorkshire Dales explored the fallout after Mary Goskirk was scammed. She was taken in by fraudster Faye, who she had been dating over the past few weeks.
However, Faye concealed her true intentions as she just wanted to get close to Mary to steal her money. The character, played by Louise Jameson, only realised Faye's motives too late and had already sent her money to repair a burned down women's centre that did not exist.

Mary has been embarrassed since the incident and even refused to tell the police as she wanted to move on from the ordeal. However, she is still scarred and received help tonight from Suzy Merton, who urged her to start dating again.
Mary was unsure if she would but fans on Twitter wondered if there was a blossoming romance between her and Suzy.
Lisa said: "Oh dear ...Mary isn't going to start hitting on Suzy is she....?"
Cinders added: "Anyone else think Mary is going to try stick it on suzie mistakenly for suzie being nice to her as a friend"
Kellie commented: "Susie and Mary, I’m calling it!"
Another user posted: "Suzy and Mary coupling up would be *a distressing scene*"
Eileen tweeted: "Please don’t say they’re going to make Suzy and Mary an “item"
