ITV Emmerdale viewers plead 'stop' as Caleb Dingle's 'secret unveiled'

Emmerdale viewers pleaded "stop2 as the show teased the reveal of Caleb Dingle's secret.

The long-running soap has been rocked with drama since Cain Dingle's long lost brother returned to the soap. Fans have been suspicious over the true motives of the character, played by Will Ash, as they speculate that something more sinister is at play.

Fans have formed a theory that Caleb might an undercover police officer or that he is plotting something against Kim Tate. However, the show played an April Fool's prank on fans today as they showed a false "first look" at next week's episode on Instagram.

The clip showed Caleb on the phone as he surprisingly tried to contact Coronation Street's villain, Stephen Reid. He said: "Stephen, it's me. I've just been going through some documents in Kim's office. She's after buying Underworld. Have you got rid of Carla yet?"

However, Caleb had mistakenly contacted Kirk Sutherland in the hilarious clip and quickly put the phone down once he realised his error. The clip was captioned: "Two worlds collide as Caleb's secret is revealed."

The show issued a clarifying statement as it confirmed the clip was indeed a hoax in celebration of April 1. However, the follow up revealed Caleb's secret will be soon unveiled.

It said: "Caleb is not teaming up with Stephen to take over Underworld, but all of his secrets will be revealed next week.."

Fans flooded the comments in hysterics after the update and said they fell for the prank.

Caren said: "Gutted think it would of been great having a cross over."

Lisa added: "Oooh I bloody fell for that as well!! Told my husband that @emmerdale was gonna be extra juicy next week #imanaprilfool"

Rachel posted, alongside laughing emojis: "Noooooo stop."

Jade said: "Nahhh totally fell for that "
