Emmerdale fans were left furious following the latest trip to the Yorkshire village. The ITV soap was back on screens on Tuesday night (August 16) and viewers were eagerly awaiting to discover what really happened to Charles Anderson. The vicar was rushed to hospital after being found unconscious with a head injury in the church.
Manpreet Sharma discovered her partner on the floor after overhearing a heated exchange between him and his estranged daughter, Naomi. The newcomer stormed out of the church and as Manpreet went inside, she found Charles on the floor. He was rushed to the hospital where it was touch and go.
But during the latest trip to the Dales, viewers discovered Charles was awake and will make a full recovery. Meanwhile, Manpreet was already convinced that Naomi had attacked her biological father and compared her to her serial killer sister Meena. However, Charles and son Ethan were left more than unimpressed when they spoke about what really happened.

While Naomi was being questioned by police, Charles confirmed Naomi didn't attack him. He said tripped over his tool box and hit his head on the font while trying to follow Naomi as she rushed out after their row. He had his tool box out as he was looking at the electrics as Ethan's boyfriend Marcus Dean didn't show to take a look
Manpreet was left confessing to Charles about the accusations she has made about Naomi and claimed she has been having nightmares that there’s 'another monster in the village' after her ordeal with Meena but didn't want to talk to him about it as he also suffered the loss of Andrea Tate, one of Meena's tragic victims.
Later, Naomi agreed to meet Manpreet so Manpreet could apologise. Naomi brought her mum, Esme with her but when she made things difficult, Naomi told her to back off and said she’d like to talk to Manpreet alone. While Manpreet was initially relieved, it didn't last long as Naomi made her feelings very clear and told Manpreet: "You need to get off my case and pray for a miracle if you ever want Charles to forgive you."
And Emmerdale fans are deeply unhappy with the character's arrival in the village. Leigh Bishop wrote on Facebook: "Awful disrespectful character. Bringing nothing to the program but the off button!" Sheila Diane Atkins said: "Not impressed with this character, she is quite hateful to her Dad."
@Crazier tweeted: "#Emmerdale This Naomi girl is a very unwelcome addition to the programme!" @amz07 commented: "Don’t see the point of this Naomi character and the adoption story. Just why? #emmerdale." @_Kax_x added: "What is Naomi so angry about? I switch off on those parts so please enlighten me #Emmerdale."
Meanwhile, other viewers are putting out their theories on why Naomi has really been brought to the village - and it's not just because of Charles. @mishybabez_ tweeted: "Naomi is so rude! I defo think she was one of the girls who attacked Nicola #Emmerdale."
@gilliangordon28 said: "I think she may be one of the girls who beat up Nicola, just a thought. Bad attitude all the way." Debbie McKenna wrote on Facebook: "She certainly has a bad attitude, think she was in that gang that attacked Nico." Ellie Marlow echoed: "She’s something to do with the gang that attacked Nicola."
While @janette.campbell.376 suggested: "I think she’s Meena’s friend because I don’t understand how someone can be so hateful to people she doesn’t know well." @the_moorebannons commented: "Hmmmmmmm me thinks Meena has something to do with this," to which normak1011 replied: "So do I."
