Emmerdale viewers were surprised to see Jacob Gallagher receive three A grade A-Level results.
Students across the United Kingdom were handed their A-Level results today and, so too did the residents of Emmerdale village. Jacob was nervous about opening his letter but Victoria and Eric promised to give him their support no matter what he got.
Luckily for him, he managed to get three As, prompting cheers and congratulations after a nail-biting wait. The teenager was happy with the results but admitted it wouldn't sway his mind regarding whether or not he would go to university and leave his mother alone when she returns from rehab.

Jacob has been at the forefront of multiple dramatic storylines in the show but often found himself not knowing what to do. His awkward demeanour has led viewers to question the character's intelligence as he's had to rely on others to clean up his messy situations.
After he revealed his A-level results, viewers were stunned to see he did so well and joked they were surprised he found time to revise at all after all off the drama.
One viewer said: "hahaha how the hell did this plant pot find time to study in this damned village? haha."
Another added: "3 A’s is a miracle Jacob…"
A third viewer said: "Jacob has three As. Don't know how he managed that."
A final comment added: "Jacob 3 A's wow after everything that went on."
His mother, Leyla, overdosed not long ago before realising she needed to sober up for the sake of her family. Jacob promised he would be there for her when she returned home but it is clear the idea of leaving for university is weighing heavy on his head.
