ITV Emmerdale's Roxy Shahidi declares 'war' on co-star amid new career venture

Roxy Shahidi has declared "war" on her co-star as she started a new career venture.

The soap actress is renowned for her role as Leyla Cavanagh in the ITV show. The 39-year-old joined the show in 2008 and soon struck up a relationship with David Metcalfe, who is played by Matthew Wolfenden.

The characters endured a turbulent romance in the fictional Yorkshire village before they split. Away from the screen, they enjoy a close friendship and Roxy has taken to Instagram to joke why Matthew is getting more requests on Cameo.

Roxy has recently joined the platform, which allows celebrities to send personalised messages to fans. Matthew is also on Cameo and Roxy said she believes she should be getting more requests in a hilarious clip shared with her 76.8k followers. She captioned the post: "The Cameo war is on."

She said: "What I don't understand is I've been on Cameo for weeks and I've had literally two requests. Matthew jumps on it and in one day he's had about 25. Why? I'm funnier definitely and I just don't understand."

Fans were in hysterics as Matthew joins Roxy on the clip during the lunch hour on the set of Emmerdale.
