ITV Emmerdale's next Meena Jutla spotted by fans after character's surprising change

Emmerdale viewers were taken aback as they saw a new side to April Windsor in tonight's show.

The character has been played by Amelia Flanagan in the long-running soap since 2014. The 14-year-old was embroiled in the drama of Monday's show as she hit Marshall.

Rhona Ghoskirk was horrified when she found out her step-daughter had found herself in trouble. She was even more concerned when April revealed she had pierced her belly-button.

The piercing had become infected so Rhona needed to take April to hospital. The character, played by Zoe Henry, was worried the change in April's personality was influenced by Naomi Walters. Rhona confronted Naomi in the Woolpack and urged her to back away from April.

Fans following the show on Twitter were surprised to see a more rebellious side to April's character. One took to the social media platform to even speculate she could be set to follow Meena Jutla's footsteps and become the show's next villain.

Garry said: "A belly button piercing, blimey April you’re surprising us tonight"

Gav added: "What have they turned April into"

Autumn posted: "Why do the #Emmerdale writers have to keep making the nice children into horrible teenagers?! It’s nice to see April with more of a storyline, but not like this!"

Bradley tweeted: "So April has become this big rebel now"

PJ commented: "April's out of control! Got the makings of this year's Meena! Fantastic!!"
