ITV Emmerdale's Kelvin Fletcher says people 'double-take' as he shows off new look

Kelvin Fletcher has said people often "double take" when they see his new look.

The soap star is renowned for his portrayal of Andy Sugden in Emmerdale. The actor quit the Yorkshire Dales after 20 years in 2016 to pursue new career opportunities.

Kelvin appeared on today's edition of Lorraine to speak about his exciting year as he is about to release a book and is also starring in a new theatre production at the National. Jack Absolutely Flies Again is a comedy set in the 1940s and Kelvin plays a character named Dudley Scunthorpe.

The character has grown a bushy moustache for the role and he told Lorraine Kelly he regularly gets funny looks from members of the public. He said: "I keep forgetting that I've got it and people do a double take."

It has been a busy year for Kelvin away from the world of showbiz as his wife, Liz, welcomed twins in May. Liz and Kelvin already shared daughter Marnie and son Milo - and took to Instagram to proudly show off the new additions to the family.

She shared a snap of the babies, alongside the caption: "They are here!! My heart is filled with so much love and gratitude."

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV and the ITV Hub
