Emmerdale fans have been desperately trying to figure out how Cain Dingle's brother may impact his stint in prison following his Christmas Day arrival. During the special festive episode, viewers of the ITV soap were introduced to Caleb Milligan, the half-brother of Cain and his younger sister Chas Dingle.
Caleb, played by William Ash, has made his way to the Dales after learning of his mum Faith's death and reading about Cain being charged with murder following the death of Al Chapman. After pestering him for a visit, Cain agreed to meet with Caleb, 30 years after first discovering his existence.
But Cain warned Caleb to stay away and in typical Cain style told him he didn't care for him and that he had too much going on. However, the newcomer didn't heed his brother's warning and headed to the village where he introduced himself to Chas, who was just letting off a firework containing Faith's ashes alone.
This led to a flashback episode on Boxing Day which showed just how Caleb first came into Cain's life, and the circumstances he and his younger sister Chas were facing after escaping their alcoholic and abusive father, Shadrach. While unsure about his new sibling at first, Cain appeared to be warming to Caleb and agreed for him to meet Chas.
However, that plan was scuppered when Chas told Cain she was pregnant, with who we now know to be as Aaron Dingle, and everything changed as Cain struggled with his sister's news. After telling Caleb to stay out of their lives, he did a runner in one of the cars. But as they were caught by the police, Cain took the wrap for Caleb leading to his first spell behind bars.
Back in the present day, during Tuesday night's edition of Emmerdale, viewers saw Caleb paying Moira a visit in the hope of her giving him some tips on how to win Cain round. He first faced a grilling from her brother Mackenzie about his 'creepy' decision to send anonymous gifts before his arrival before Moira told him she wasn't willing to go against his husband's wishes.
Caleb shared how he liked Moira and respected her loyalty to his brother. And with that, he headed off to The Woolpack where he was suddenly introduced to his extended family, including Cain's dad Zach who made a surprise return home at Christmas. And Caleb appeared particularly irked to see Chas packing her bags after being instructed to leave by her heartbroken husband Paddy.
And what he told her clearly worked as she later told Paddy that she wasn't leaving, that their agreement was off and that she was moving back into the pub the next day. As the latest scenes played out, Emmerdale fans were quick to flock to social media to have their say - predicting an affair and figuring out just how Cain might get out of prison.
@LunaLocoJewels tweeted: "How long before moira and caleb sleep together? It'll be cain's fault, for being in prison of course #emmerdale." @RyanTheSoapking said: "Hopefully Caleb will help to release Cain from prison. #Emmerdale." @Samanth22356123 echoed: "I’m guessing this Caleb storyline will eventually lead to Cain’s release??#Emmerdale."
Meanwhile, @maitra_sulagna commented: "Moira, the voice of sanity & reason. Unfortunately, I see a Moira Caleb affair down the road #Emmerdale." @WilliamWillh wrote: "So, when does Moira end up in bed with Caleb? #Emmerdale." @ASuperGav posted: "Oh, oh. Did I spy a gleam in Caleb’s eye when he looked into Moira’s eyes as he left? While the cat’s away……… #Emmerdale."
@GeorgiaBowring shared: "#emmerdale I’ll put my next months wages on it, Moira will sleep with Caleb." But @jambocaz pleaded: "#emmerdale DO NOT let Caleb have an affair with Moira!!!"
