Emmerdale fans think they have worked out a possible double twist after the surprise return for Rhona's ex-husband Gus Malcom. The character first appeared in the village last month, much to Rhona's shock and he proceeded to ask her if he and his new wife Lucy could use her remaining embryos.
The former couple were reunited as Gus hoped to use the remaining embryos he and Rhona had stored for Lucy because cancer had left him unable to conceive through natural means. Rhona was initially horrified by the request but soon came around to agreeing that Gus and Lucy can move forward with their fertility plans.
However, she later did another u-turn after her husband Marlon Dingle and mum Mary Goskirk didn't agree with her decision. Gus suddenly turned violent as he continued to try and guilt her into agreeing but when she refused again, he aggressively pushed her against a wall.

Terrified Rhona demanded that he left and realising the error of his ways, he decided to leave Rhona alone. That was, however, until he returned during Tuesday night's episode of the ITV soap and ended up coming to Mary's recuse after she was left out cold by lover Faye.
Faye's lies over the Ecuadorian women's refuge were exposed and when Mary confronted her, she showed no remorse and as Mary tried to claw back the wad of cash left for her by Suzy Merton following their recent sham fundraiser, she was knocked to the floor and was left bleeding from banging her head on the coffee table.
Faye smirked and walked out, along with the cash and a fancy camera which had been left on the sideboard, and luckily for Mary, Gus showed up and let himself in, finding her still out cold on the ground. His attempt to call Rhona failed as he also called 999.
Suzy and the paramedics were on the scene soon too, but Mary made sure to thank Gus for taking care of her. "Take care," Gus replied as he said he'd try another time to get in touch with Rhona. But as he left, eagle-eyed EastEnders fans spotted him taking a look on the same sideboard Faye had nicked the camera from.
While some wondered whether Faye and Gus were known to each other, other fans were predicting Gus may get his way after all. @Jamal06122771 tweeted: "Why do I have a bad feeling Gus and this woman are working together. He looked a bit dodgy leaving the house." @Rosepetal98_ said: "Mary’s going to convince Rhona to give Gus permission to use her embryos!"
@pam_debeauvoir posted: "Does Ghastly Gus think Rhona will repay him finding her mum, by changing her mind about the embryos. I do hope not." Meanwhile, @PaulPoeUK predicted: "Gus is quite clearly going to forge the signature. 9 months time rock up with a baby. #Emmerdale." @News4Emmerdale added: "Gus took a slowwww walk out of Smithy’s. Did he pocket something on his way out? #emmerdale."
