Emmerdale fans believe they know what really happened to Charles Anderson after he ended up fighting for his life in hospital. The vicar was minding his own business in the church when his estranged daughter, Naomi, appeared.
The character was pleased to see that she was willing to talk in scenes aired during Monday night's edition of the ITV soap after she furiously walked out on him in the previous episode aired on Friday after she felt like she had been 'set up' by brother Ethan as they enjoyed a meal together.
But any peace between Naomi and Charles, who only discovered he had a daughter in June after she was born after he left his wife Esme all those years ago, was soon shattered and the father and daughter were soon embroiled in a heated argument. Unbeknown to them, Charles' partner Manpreet Sharma had approached the church and heard some of their exchange after being threatened by Naomi herself.
It wasn't long before Naomi came bursting out of the doors of the church and walk away towards to bus stop. Once inside the church, Manpreet was left horrified and shaken to find Charles lying on the floor unconscious and with a head injury. Harriet Finch saw what had happened and arrived inside the church and called for an ambulance.
When she spotted the paramedics arriving, Naomi rushed back over to the church as Manpreet, a GP, told the emergency staff about Charles' condition. Clearly alarmed, Naomi asked if Charles was okay, only for Manpreet to order her to leave and blamed Charles' accident on her.
Naomi tried to get away from Harriet before she was arrested on suspicion of assault. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Charles was in a critical condition and Manpreet wasted no time in telling his son Ethan that Naomi was to blame and that she reminded her of her killer sister, Meena Jutla.
But fans think Naomi is innocent and have 'figured out' what really happened to Charles in the church. Dilys Hughes wrote on Facebook: "He's electrocuted himself and banged his head when he fell." Lin Langford replied: "I agree was messing with electrical equipment before his daughter arrived."
Olwen Hill shared: "It will turn out to be the electrics, tho how the hell he had time to go back to messing with them we'll never know!!@. Manpreet will keep accusing Naomi until Charles wakes up and he'll exonerate Naomi and finish with Manpreet. So boring!!!" Nicki Smith wrote: "I think he fell from an electric shock that Ethan's beloved should've dealt with!"
@HawthorneAcre tweeted: "The vicar has been electrocuted, hasn’t he? Marcus’s fault. #Emmerdale." @Rosepetal98_ echoed: "He got electrocuted playing electrician! #Emmerdale."
They're referring to scenes in last week's episodes in which Charles asked Ethan to get his boyfriend, Marcus Dean, to take a look at the electrics. He initially refused as he said he had a lot on but did tell Charles who would pop over, but viewers never saw him pay the church a visit.
