ITV Emmerdale fans staggered by cafe scenes as Nicola informs Marlon that Paddy owes her money

Emmerdale fans couldn't believe what they were hearing when they were treated to some new scenes from the cafe on Wednesday night (March 22). Fans of the ITV soap watched as Liam Cavanagh and Wendy Posner had a meeting in the Café Main Street after they were forced out of the doctors surgery.

They were briefly joined by Marlon Dingle who was asked about his best pal Paddy Kirk who is taking things day by day after his struggles with depression saw him contemplating taking his own life. But with the vet back at work and planning on moving out of The Woolpack where he lives with estranged wife Chas Dingle and their daughter, Eve, Nicola King wasn't going soft on him.

She informed Marlon that Paddy owed her money for a coffee. "When you see Paddy, tell him he owes me £2.70," she said. "He came in this morning for a coffee and left without paying." Marlon tried to argue that his friend had been "quite distracted" but Nicola replied: "Yeah, I know he's had it tough and my heart goes out to him but his coffee still needs paying for."

But soon after, after heading back behind the counter, Nicola shouted over to say that Paddy actually owes £8.70 as he had a butty with his coffee. And the sudden price change left Emmerdale viewers flocking to social media to comment as they worked out that Paddy's sandwich set him back £6.

@a___w89 tweeted: "Bloody hell Nicola your butties are expensive #emmerdale." @PJDavies1962 said: "£6 for a butty! Bloody expensive in #emmerdale. I'm off to Himmlers for my £4 pint of milk." @EmperorMendoza posted: "£6 for a butty? EXTORTIONATE!!! #emmerdale." While @mikepriestley13 argued: "A local cafe charging £2.70 for a coffee. That’s dear for a local cafe surely? #Emmerdale."

And Emmerdale' cafe isn't the only one to have drawn attention in the past. Coronation Street's very own Roys Rolls had viewers commenting for the opposite reason as they came across Roy Cropper's cheap and cheerful prices. " Any body notice the Pie chips and mushy peas for £2.60 count me in," one fan previously said.

Another noted: "There is also a sign up in the Cafe for curry & rice £2.75, it's been there ever since I can remember." A third shared: "I'm going to Roy's Rolls... pie chips and mushy peas for £2.60 and full breakfast for £2.95 bargain!!"
