ITV Emmerdale fans 'relieved' after Meena is finally locked away

Emmerdale viewers all agreed Meena's murder trial storyline had gone on for long enough.

As Meena stood on trial for the murder of Leanna, it seemed the verdict could've gone any way. Viewers were convinced she was going to get away with it but after testimonials from Manpreet and Liam, the jury found her guilty.

Last night viewers saw Meena attack Manpreet with a shard of broken glass before making a run for it. Eventually caught by the police, she was locked away.

Thrilled that the soap opera is finally moving on, fans shared their excitement online. One tweet said: "On an up note tho I’m just so glad it’s all over and we can finally move onto bigger and better stories (hopefully) #Emmerdale".

Another viewer said: "#Emmerdale glad that storyline is over went on way too long, disappointed with the script and acting in the final 30mins though". One more added: "Finally it's over, now onto the next farfetched dragged out story #Emmerdale".

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that, despite Meena finally going down for her crimes, there was still a mystery to be solved. During the trial, Leyla was spotted on the phone to someone but it is yet to be revealed who. Some fans speculated it was Andrea and she wasn't dead at all but the moment has not been referenced since it aired.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
