Emmerdale fans spotted a blunder as Paddy Kirk avoided being found by estranged wife Chas Dingle and former flame Mandy Dingle. Viewers tuning in to the ITV soap on Tuesday (February 14) were hoping for an update on Paddy's whereabouts after he fled the village without a word to his family.
The beloved ITV soap character, played by Dominic Brunt, left the fictional Yorkshire village following an impromptu reunion with his former wife, Mandy. But Paddy's decision to suddenly leave his family comes as viewers have watched the vet suffering since the breakdown of his marriage when he discovered his wife Chas had been cheating with the now-late Al Chapman.
Paddy has since been struggling with Chas' infidelity while still living with her at The Woolpack as they attempt to amicably co-parent their little girl. During scenes aired in the soap on Monday night (February 13), Paddy's family were seen being told by the police that they were scaling down their search for him after he was spotted drawing out money at a cash point in Skipdale.
PC Swirling arrived at the pub where he revealed there had been a sighting of Paddy and showed the family the CCTV. After confirming it was Paddy in the video, the police officer revealed that they wouldn't continue searching for Paddy, suggesting he isn't in any danger.
So the family took matters into their own hands and during Tuesday night's trip to the Dales, after ringing round guest houses in the Skipdale area, Charity Dingle managed to track Paddy down and it was a nervous Mandy and Chas who went in search of him. The owner told the pair that Paddy had gone out but that she had got him to promise he returns in time to watch an episode of Celebrity Catchphrase.
After a heart-to-heart, while they waited for Paddy's return, after Mandy blamed herself for Paddy's disappearance, it was decided that Mandy would stay the guesthouse in case Paddy returned while Chas headed back home to look after her and Paddy's young daughter, Eve.
However, in the closing moments of the episode, Chas was seen driving off while Paddy hid behind a pillar at the end of a driveway. Watching Mandy head back inside the guesthouse, Paddy emerged and walked off up the street away from where he was staying. And Emmerdale fans were quick to spot the main problem with Mandy and Chas' efforts.
@flicksfan tweeted: "#emmerdale Didn’t Chas & Mandy realise Paddy would see their car outside?" @Chris1968E posted: "#Emmerdale They don't think Paddy won't know the car or does having a [broken heart] make u stupid in Emmerdale." @Zombiechick1967 added: "And if Paddy doesn't want to see them he'll spot the car parked outside & do a runner! #Emmerdale."
Others were wondering how Chas managed to miss Paddy attempting to hide from her view. @MattZeeMiller said: "Good job Mandy and chas aren't in the police , paddy hardly had great hiding place at all but still not spotted at all #emmerdale." @Zombiechick1967 tweeted: "He was practically standing in front of the car & she didn't see him!! #Emmerdale."
@ShaneF_Official commented: "How did Chas not see paddy when she was driving out he was in front of her #Emmerdale." @Chris1968E added: "#Emmerdale when Chas was driving out Paddy must've run (yea I know) across the road so how the hell she not see him."
