Emmerdale fans appear to have been left with more questions than answers after Caleb Milligan's connections to the village were finally revealed. Viewers of the ITV soap have been suspicious of the character, played by Will Ash, ever since he arrived at Christmas and revealed himself as the half-brother of Cain and Chas Dingle.
He claimed to want to reconnect with his family after learning of his mum, Faith Dingle's death. However, after being keen to help Cain and his son Kyle after the youngster confessed to killing his aunt's secret lover Al Chapman as well as getting himself a job alongside Kim Tate at Home Farm, fans believed there was more to why he was making his presence known in Emmerdale.
Things started to unravel at the end of Wednesday night's episode when it became clear that someone was watching Caleb and Leyla Cavanagh head upstairs as their romance hotted up while a hooded figure peered through the window of the wedding planner's home. The next day, as seen during Thursday's trip to the Dales, somebody watched Leyla from a car window.

But later, as Leyla entered the Village Hall, her stalker was apprehended by Caleb and uncovered as Nicky, Home Farm's recent nanny. Despite knowing that Caleb had plans to get his hands on Home Farm, or bring it down, a second twist unveiled that Nicky was in fact Caleb's son and had got access to the village's big estate in order to gain information for his dad.
Fuming at seeing him with Leyla, Nicky, played by Lewis Cope, asked his dad: "What about mam?" But Caleb hit back "You have got to accept me and your mum are separated. We can do what we want."
"Fine," Nicky hit back. "Enjoy your midlife crisis," before reminding him to do what he promised and get the money. The father and son were later seen walking around the Emmerdale graveyard to visit the grave of the former owner of the estate, Frank Tate, who is revealed as Caleb’s father.
And as fans wrapped their heads around the big reveal, they had a number of questions with one being how Caleb knew Frank was his dad. Frank Tate, played by Norman Bowler, died on the soap in 1997 at the age of 59 in a special hour-long episode following the arrival of his estranged wife Kim. The character, who is also father to Chris, Zoe, and Jamie Tate as well as Liam Hammond, appeared to have a heart attack as she watched on, and demanded contact with her son James Tate.
@TrixieLaBouche tweeted: "So Caleb is Frank Tate's son! Firstly how does he know this and secondly is Faith actually his mum? If Faith IS his mum WTF!? Also is he wanting revenge on Kim or just his "birthright"? I'm very confused! #emmerdale." @ktlulu1985 said: "How many times did Caleb actually meet Frank if he was a secret love child? Why get revenge on Kim. If he meant anything to Frank he would of been at his table with Chris and Zoe #emmerdale."
Others still don't believe that Caleb is 'half dingle' and is the late Faith Dingle's son despite his meeting with Cain when they were younger which was seen in a flashback episode on Boxing Day.
@doteen posted: "So we now know that Caleb is Frank's son #emmerdale But is he really Faith's son or is that another twist yet to come & he's not related to Cain?? Very obvious though Nicky wasn't as nice as he played out to be. But didn't see this coming as Father & Son. Still like Caleb." @Winis_World tweeted: "I'm confused though... is Caleb actually Faith Dingle's son? That part isn't a lie... is it? #Emmerdale."
@Jools_T said: "I’m just no havin it that Frank Tate and Faith Dingle had a doodah together and Caleb was the result… nah… surely no?! I wonder tho if Cain knows more than he’s saying… I hope he does!! #emmerdale." @griannedoherty3 added: "So either Faith totally got with Frank Tate at some point or Caleb's NOT actually who he claims to be after all? But how does he know so much about the first meeting with Cain? Unless Faith's real lovechild is also involved somehow? Anyone else slightly confused? #Emmerdale."
