ITV Emmerdale fans have 'bad feeling' as soap shares first look at Cain Dingle and Al Chapman's showdown

Emmerdale fans have said they have a 'bad feeling' as they were given the first glimpse at Cain Dingle and Al Chapman's serious showdown. The ITV soap has released a brand new trailer, fresh off the back of its epic 50th anniversary week which saw the Yorkshire village devasted by a storm.

Viewers were left wondering who could be next after being left shocked and heartbroken over two deaths caused as a result of the windstorm. Both Harriet Finch and Liv Dingle became victims of the adverse weather, with police officer Harriet succumbing to injuries after being flung down a ravine and crushed by the quad bike she was riding in the woods. After being found by Kim Tate, the bike was struck by a lightning bolt and the explosion caught Harriet in its wake.

Back in the village, Liv lost her life after she was unable to be saved from being crushed underneath Sam and Lydia Dingle's caravan. She and husband Vinny had been trying to make their way to the Woolpack when the wind blew the vehicle in their direction. While Vinny survived, Liv was stuck and the emergency services were unable to free her from the wreckage and she died with Vinny by her side outside David Metcalfe's shop.

The week then ended with a search for Samson Dingle, who was seen lying in a ditch after being missing for two days, while his dad, Sam, was recovering after surgery after he was spiked on a piece of farming machinery.

But while the weather may have returned to normal, devastation has been left in its wake and now there's a storm brewing of a different kind as Al and Cain's old rivalry comes back with a vengeance. though the outcome is being kept under tight wraps, it's clear in the latest trailer then a gun is involved in their confrontation.

The brief clip appears to show Cain discovering Al's affair with his sister Chas which has been going on for months. Belle was the first to discover their secret liaison but kept quiet when Chas agreed to stay away. Chas' son Aaron then discovered her sordid secret and again, she made a vow to end things. But last week the grieving character was disgusted to find out his mum was still seeing Al behind step-dad Paddy's back.

"The storm isn't over," a message reads on screen as Cain tells Al he won't be seeing Chas as he points a shotgun directly at him before his enemy replies: "What you going to do?" A fight then breaks out between the pair and the 20-second trailer ends with a shot ringing out.

Reacting to the new clip, @Barbara67465564 said: "I have [a] bad feeling this whole showdown with Cain Al isn’t going to end well I have a bad feeling that It won’t be Al that gets shot." @Jess_xHx wrote: "About time! But will there be a twist - as it’s not just Cain who hates him?! #TeamCain."

@Sueosullivan8 shared: "Wish cain would just let him and chas leave, very bad vibes here for cain." @AmySian1993 posted: "If anything bad happens to cain I’ll be heartbroken bye." @jamietate__ added: "Tbf this war going on to long now."

Previously teasing the highly-anticipated kick-off, Al actor Michael Wildman said: "It's about time the two of them started rubbing up against each other! It's been in the making for a long time... let's get on with it!

"It's a situation that surely has to come... they've had a lot of banter and have been crossing swords, but never really actually gone full pelt on things. I'm hoping this could potentially come to a little getting it together in terms of having it out..."
