ITV Emmerdale fans gobsmacked as rarely seen character makes returns all grown up

Emmerdale fans were left surprised during the latest trip to the village as a rarely seen character made a sudden return. The ITV soap was back on screens on Wednesday night (September 7) after it was taken off air on the previous night (Tuesday) to make way for the Lionesses' latest World Cup qualifier.

But normality resumed last month and viewers couldn't believe it as the daughter of Chas and Paddy Dingle appeared in the Hop during. Fans have often asked about the whereabouts of the youngster as she's never seen at home in The Woolpack with her family.

However, all that changed during the latest episode as Eve could be seen sat colouring in a picture as her mum popped to the café bar to cosy up with secret fling Al Chapman.

And it was here age that took viewers by surprise as the last time they saw the young character was when she was just a baby. @EastieOaks said: "Wow the rarely spotted Eve Dingle #Emmerdale." @airwavey wrote in surprise: "#emmerdale Jeez - is that Eve? Manifested as a real child??"

@chockies20 replied: "Looks like ready for school, been missing that long." @TheRadioFanatic tweeted: "Wow!! Is that Eve? Can’t believe she’s grown up that fast! Last I saw her she was in the back of a car that was nearly run off the road by Jamie. #Emmerdale." @Samanth22356123 shared: "Bl**dy hell!!!! Eve was only 6 months old 20 minutes ago!!!!!! #Emmerdale."

@TVMusings22 penned: "Wow I spot an Eve!!! Forgot she existed tbh #emmerdale." @itzzzo_ joked: "They've let Eve out of the prop cupboard! #Emmerdale." @Chestikov69 laughed: "Eve's debut #Emmerdale."

Eve was born in October 2019, making her nearly three years old and is portrayed by twins Bonnie and Billy Clement. Eve was born after Chas and Paddy went through the heartbreak of losing their first child, Grace. While pregnant Chas' unborn daughter with Bilateral Renal Agenesis - when both kidneys and bladder fail to develop.

She was heartbreakingly told that if the diagnosis was confirmed, her baby would not survive. Chas later went into labour on son Aaron and partner Robert's stag night and gave birth to Grace in Hotten General Hospital where she lived for only twenty-nine minutes. Later, in a poignant episode, viewers watched the heartbroken parents create a special place in the woods to honour their late daughter.
