Emmerdale fans have made their feelings very clear as they saw Leyla Cavanagh taking drugs for the first time. Viewers of the ITV soap had already figured out the wedding planner was behind the discovery of a substance in the Take A Vow office.
Last week, Jai Sharma was looking for his wallet after he lost it after paying his sister, Priya Sharma, a visit at the office. As they searched, it was girlfriend Laurel Thomas who found it tucked behind the cushion on a chair. However, when she picked it up, a bag of white powder dropped out and she was quick to point the blame at the former drug user.
While he protested his innocence, Laurel nor his dad Rishi Sharma believed he was telling the truth. Since then, viewers have seen Leyla Cavanagh showing her support for Jai and helping send businesses his way at the HOP. And during Thursday night's trip to the Dales they found out the real reason why.

Newcomer Suzy was seen giving Leyla a bag of cocaine as they celebrated securing a big business deal. It comes just a couple of weeks after Leyla was left acting shifty when she found out Suzy was dating her friend Vanessa Woodfield.
During the latest scenes, the pair appeared to be buzzing as they enjoyed their latest success with a bottle of fizz and spoke about their next big job. But Leyla started to appear more and more out of character. And back at Take A Vow, Leyla was heard asking Suzy for more and pulled out a bag of drugs.
And Vanessa almost discovered Suzy and Leyla's secret as she came in to find her new love interest as they worked together to secure a rich client for his stag do and wedding. After she left, Leyla wanted to carry on the party when she was warned by Suzy: "Don't let this become a problem, Leyla..."
Eventually, Suzy got away to enjoy time with Vanessa whereas Leyla was left frustrated and lashing out when her husband Liam Cavanagh refused to have a celebratory drink with her and went to bed. Still desperate to celebrate, Leyla called Suzy who was too busy to answer her call.
But Emmerdale viewers were quick to take to social media and share their despair at what's happened with the character. @justme_30_01 said: "Seriously the Leyla/drugs storyline is uncalled for. How many addicts do we need in one tiny village."
@_rachelm91_ fumed: "Well done emmerdale for the start of ruining Leylas character!! You do know it’s possible for people to have a HAPPY storyline right? I mean she lost her step daughter then had a miscarriage and almost lost her marriage and LIFE! But hey why not add drug addiction into the mix too which will possibly lead to you lot breaking up Leyla and Liam."
"The new Leyla story line is spoiling every part of Emmerdale, after the last story line with her and Liam, this is so out of character stopping watching," @wilde2738 commented.
@spartacus2906 complained: "There’s never ever been a hint of Leyla being a druggie..now she’s acting like Pablo Escobar’s bit on the side. Please writers, give us break from these ridiculous storylines! #Emmerdale."
"#emmerdale Genuinely don’t know what to say about tonight’s episode. I’m lost for words. When Emmerdale came on this evening my cat got up and left the room. Why did they need to make Leyla high… there’s no reason for that. And not with Suzy. FFS," @RileyCo10852974 added.
But fans were just annoyed with Liam as he failed to spot his wife's erratic behaviour. @moore95_pamela tweeted: "Liam, you're a doctor...can't you see Leyla's irrational action is because she's high as a kite #Emmerdale."
"Well Liam is a doctor so he should spot the dramatic change in his wife #Emmerdale," @Momrocks50 said.
@soniast94597425 commented: "#Emmerdale. I don’t want to be picky but won’t Liam be able to tell that Layla is on drugs by looking at her pupils?"
"#Emmerdale of course Liam an experienced Dr won't see Leyla's behaviour is well out of character," @Chris1968E shared as @penniless_poet wrote: "Liam you're a doctor - notice how Leyla is super hyped and gabbling? No, probably not #Emmerdale."
