ITV Emmerdale fans 'disappointed' as Marlon Dingle finally gets out of hospital

Emmerdale fans were 'disappointed' after Marlon Dingle finally got to go home from hospital.

The ITV soap character suffered a stroke a few weeks ago, which left him unable to care for his own needs or speak.

In heartbreaking scenes, Marlon, played by Mark Charnock, was rushed to hospital, where he has since been recovering.

But tonight, Marlon's nurse packed up his belongings as she said that someone was coming to take him home.

Marlon struggled to get his words out as he said: "Thanks."

He stuttered as he added: "For putting up with me."

The nurse replied: "Just keep pushing on, you know what you need to do. Because, and I mean this in the nicest possible way, I really don't want to see you back on my ward again."

She smiled fondly at him as Marlon was wheeled away by the paramedics who were taking him home.

Later, Marlon was welcomed back home with a huge banner as Rhona greeted him.

However she soon ran back into the house to clear the way for him, Dingles Chas and Cain waved from afar, and best friend Paddy watched silently from his window.

Marlon got a tear in his eye, seemingly feeling very alone, and the paramedic asked if he needed a minute as tears began to roll down his face.

He simply explained that he couldn't be happier.

But fans on Twitter shared their disappointment at how Marlon had been treated by his loved ones.

James said: "#emmerdale the support Marlon is getting from his family and close friends is absolutely disgusting and they all should be ashamed of themselves."

Reece said: "Disappointed in Paddy."

Meanwhile, Roberto said: "Marlon is worried though and paddy is doing my head in though Not like he any different ffs Yes he had a stroke even so... #Emmerdale"

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
