ITV Emmerdale fans demand character's exit as they want Rishi 'protected at all costs'

Emmerdale fans have been left reeling as Sandra Flaharty made her next move in a bid to get her hands on some cash. The character, played by Joanne Mitchell, returned to the Dales earlier this month and it wasn't long before viewers of the ITV soap discovered the truth behind her return.

Last seen last year when her daughter Liv's alcohol addiction spiralled, Sandra arrived pleading for her daughter's help after seeing her turn her life around, ditching the booze, and marrying the love of her life, Vinny Dingle. While Liv did appear to be willing to help, she and her new husband did send her on her way but Sandra was soon found drunk in the graveyard by Liv and pal Gabby Thomas.

Without hesitation, Liv fell for Sandra’s act and ended up inviting her to stay with her. But her true reasons for her return have since been revealed when newcomer Terry showed up as he stormed into their home and demanded his money, to which Liv offered to pay him off with her own cash.

Later, Liv met with Terry and paid him the money, with him admitting he was "glad to see the back of" Sandra while she said it was a relief to get him off her back. But it was all a rouse as at the end of the episode, it was revealed that Sandra and Terry were in cahoots as they split the £4,000 between themselves. And it appears Sandra's plans to con her daughter aren't stopping there as she remarked: "If this goes according to plan, I'll rinse that girl for everything she's got!"

And her keenness for cash is evident as she been pilfering money from the tip jar at the salon where she was given a job by Mandy Dingle who was trying to help her daughter-in-law Liv. But in recent scenes, things took another turn as Sandra set her sights on Rishi Sharma who revealed he was feeling a bit flush after coming into some money.

Emmerdale fans watched as Sandra catfished Rishi, pretending to be another woman on a dating app before standing him up. This gave her the chance to swoop in and give Rishi the confidence boost he needed after being let down. However, the pair soon ended up back at his place and the next morning, Rishi appeared mortified over his actions.

Sandra played on his panic, prentending to be offended and hurt by Rishi's reaction to their secret liaison. Trying to appease her, he offers her stacks of cash, starting at £20 before eventually rising to triple figures. And Sanda's latest scheme left fans fuming and demanding she leave the village.

@pam_debeauvoir tweeted: "No fool like an old fool Rishi...but Sandra really needs to leave the village as quickly as she arrived #Emmerdale." @Chris1968E fumed: "#Emmerdale what the hell is the point of Sandra. Can't Emmerdale have at least one decent character is that too much to ask."

@stubbs4612 said: "Get that woman off the program, not a nice person." @lizjrobertson added: "She is seriously annoying me and hope she’s only here for a short time."

@michellebailey560 shared: "Leave Rishi alone, he deserves alot better." @ tracey.ll cried: " Horrible story line. Poor Rishi love him he don't deserve all the sadness he gets. Why do the kindness character's get and go through so much pain and hurt. I know it's not real like but if your a lovely kind hearted person in a soap your bloody doomed."
