Emmerdale fans have been left reeling for all the right reasons after getting a hint at what's to come during the show's 50th anniversary celebrations next month. The ITV soap will be celebrating five decades on air with four weeks worth of action centred around one dramatic week.
Last month the soap's boss teased their 'epic' plans for the big birthday in October. Jane Hudson teased at the time: "Across the month you will see stories which have you in tears, make you laugh out loud and of course, amaze you with some of the most epic stunts you will have ever seen.
“The Emmerdale team is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to creating drama as its very best, and never before has this been more true." It came after it was revealed the village of Emmerdale will not be the same again from October onwards as a wind storm shakes up life in the Dales for every single resident.

Jane told the Manchester Evening News and other press during a special event at the Yorkshire-based filming location that there will be one particular episode, to air on October 16, that will really kickstart events with Kim Tate and Will Taylor's wedding. "Of course, it's not going to go smooth," Jane teased. "It's the week that's going to deliver the most epic of stunts," she added before handing over to Kate Brooks, Emmerdale's series producer, to share more.
"As part of our big 50th week, although we are doing a month of celebrations, the big 50th week will focus on a massive storm that is going to rip through the village and leave a massive trail of destruction in its wake. Some of our best-loved villagers will be in peril and it's safe to say that literally, the village won't be the same after this and won't ever be the same again because the impact this storm has on people's lives is just massive."
And now Emmerdale fans have had a little taste of what's to come in a brand new trailer but it has an unusual twist. That's because the soap's much-loved characters have been transformed into minute cake-toppers as part of a huge Emmerdale-themed cake.
A post alongside the trailer read: "A storm is brewing in the Emmerdale village. Take a look at what's in store for a very special birthday month." In part of the first look, Kim’s wedding dress is seen covered in dirt as she holds a muddy pair of shoes in hand while stood on rocks in the middle of the storm.
In another scene Cain Dingle and Al Chapman are seen in a new face-off, leading to suspicions he could find out about his sister Chas' affairs with the sneaky businessman. Noah and Charity Dingle are also seen sitting in their car in the village, surrounded by fallen trees and swirling storm clouds while Nicola King is also seen in shock.
Also seen in the trailer is Chas, Marlon Dingle, Charles Anderson, Amelia Spence, Naomi Anderson, Vinny Dingle, Liv Flaherty, and Sam Dingle. And as the trailer was shared on social media, Emmerdale fans were quick to react.
