Emmerdale will welcome a newcomer tp the village next week and soap fans might have seen this latest arrival somewhere before.
The Yorkshire-based soap has cast Hollyoaks and Home and Away star, Kyle Pryor, as he takes on the guest role of Darren, who becomes involved in a gambling ploy at the local pub. In upcoming scenes viewers will see Vinny Dingle thrashing Jimmy King during a casual game of poker, leaving a beady eyed Will Taylor impressed with his skills.
Will later suggests that the pair join him for a game at the pub with high-stakes, and it doesn't take long for word to get round as Ryan Stocks, David Metcalfe and Mackenzie Boyd all get involved too. Its then when charming newcomer Darren arrives at The Woolpack and shows an interest in the game, but could Vinny's new found interest in gambling become a problem?

Actor Kyle is best known for his roles as Nate Cooper in the Australian soap Home and Away and super villain Laurie Shelby in the Channel 4's Hollyoaks. Laurie was the husband of Sinead O’Connor and deputy head at Hollyoaks High School. He was responsible for sexually harassing Sienna Blake, raping Sinead and attempting to rape Diane Hutchinson.
In 2020, Kyle returned to Hollyoaks as a body double for certain scenes with his real-life partner Anna Passey (Sienna Blake) when the show was working under social distancing guidelines due to the coronavirus pandemic. Before these TV appearances, he was a stunt man on several films including Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
