Sunday night's episode of Dancing On Ice sparked complaints from a number of viewers following a segment which has drawn criticism.
The popular ITV show which is presented by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield and features Nottingham's Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean as judges, was back on Sunday evening in an episode which saw contestants take on Hollywood inspired routines for Movie Week.
But a routine performed by Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher led to some complaints from viewers. Mollie took on a Ghostbusters inspired dance alongside Sylvain Longchambon. However, viewers were taken aback when the show was suddenly cut off at the start of routine to go to the ITV news studio. Viewers watched a fake breaking news report by ITV newsreader Lucrezia Millarini, who took part in Dancing on Ice in 2020, The Mirror reports.
The move was actually part of the routine as the news anchor warned of paranormal activities before Mollie and Sylvain took to the ice. As the ITV News title played in the middle of the show, Lucrezia said: "We interrupt this programme with news of a sudden rise in supernatural sightings. The cause of the outbreak is currently unknown but we're assured experts have arrived to deal with the issue," before it cut to the performance.
