Dancing on Ice favourite Bez has told the story of how he lived in a cave to dodge angry locals.
The 57-year-old Happy Mondays star, real name Mark Berry, went travelling to get away from trouble as a teen.
After his parents booted him out in Salford, and falling foul of the authorities, he headed for Morocco in North Africa, The Mirror reports.

He told the Guardian magazine: “At the peak of my rebellion, I did time in detention centres and borstals.
“I was living on the street and getting into all sorts of trouble. By the time I was about 19, I decided the best thing was to have a huge adventure and go travelling.
“I lived in Morocco for a bit and was shoplifting to survive, pinching bars of chocolate.
“I got chased out of town and had to hide in a cave for three weeks until money I’d been waiting for arrived.”
Bez said drugs were behind him, and he loved veg: “I juice every day, using fruit and veg out of the garden. If I go for two days without having juice I start panicking.”
Happy Mondays star Bez is synonymous with the late eighties and 90s Madchester scenes - and now he's swapping his famous maracas for ice skates on Dancing On Ice.
Bez, best known as the 'freaky dancer' with the Salford-formed band, was born in Bolton and his real name is Mark Berry.
He grew up in Bolton, Little Hulton and Walkden, before moving in with his grandparents in Wigan at the age of 16.
Bez's mum was an auxiliary nurse and his dad was a chief inspector in the police anti-terrorist squad in the 1970s.
With the Happy Mondays, he was maraca player and dancer during the 'Baggy' movement which merged rock with acid house music and psychedelia.
