ITV Dancing on Ice final fury as viewers call for 'professional dancers ban'

ITV Dancing on Ice fans have reacted angrily to the outcome of the 2022 finale, as Regan Gascoigne won the final against Brendan Cole, with Kimberley Wyatt forced to settle for third and miss out on the Bolero dance-off to boot.

As reported by YorkshireLive, Regan Gascoigne broke down in tears as he was crowned winner of Dancing on Ice 2022 with partner Karina who lifted the crown with him.

Fans weren't happy, however, as they all had something to say about the result.

Viewers were looking forward to seeing Kimberley Wyatt take on the famed Bolero, but she never got to as Brendan Cole took second place, and a spot in the dance-off.

Bolero is a dance made popular by Torvill and Dean in their 1984 Winter Olympics gold triumph, set to a piece of classical French music by Revel.

Fans flocked to social media to air their thoughts, as one Twitter user said: "So the professional dancers reached the final two spots... If that wasn't going to be obvious from the beginning.."

Another wrote: "What a surprise !! Who would of expected that a professional dancer would win a dancing show. Absolute joke and completely unfair !!"

A third said: "Definitely fixed to put Brendan in the final two. Beyond a joke, Kimberly deserved it beyond anything. Literally acted like a professional the entire show tonight and DIDNT f*** up."

Another said: "Would prefer a ban on professional dancers on #DancingOnIce. It’s a bit boring and also unfair on the other contestants"

More comments read: "A professional dancer won Dancing on Ice ahead of another two professional dancers. seems fair and legit", "The comments about paying to see Regan as he's so professional is annoying because we clearly now know what they think of the tour every year", and "Its unfair they have professional dancers who have more of an advantage than others."

Some people were angry about the Bolero being missed out, with one Twitter user writing: "No not happy @KimberlyKWyatt and @Mark_Hanretty should be doing Bolero. Kimberly was doing moves no one had seen before and the other 2 are only glorified dancers. I am absolutely gutted."

However, not everyone was of the same opinion: "Sick to death of the damn Bolero now, and Chris and Jayne living off one moment in time 30 yrs ago. Time it’s retired."

Others said: "I know they won the winter Olympics with it but surely even Torville and Dean must get a bit bored with the Bolero..."
