Dancing on Ice fans had a strong reaction as former health secretary Matt Hancock appeared on the Sunday night celeb skating contest. Viewers asked what was going on as the MP for West Suffolk was interviewed in the audience by host Holly Willoughby, and he was asked if he fancied a go on the ice.
"What sort of song would have to be played to get you going?" Holly asked Matt, who came in third place after a controversial stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here at the end of last year following the Covid-19 pandemic. "I dance to almost anything," said Matt, who was joined by his girlfriend Gina Coladangelo. "It's more enthusiasm than talent though. A bit of Queen Don't Stop Me Now."
Holly then put to him: "Would you pop on a sequin?" And he replied: "l could do with dressing up a bit." He added: "Eating cockroaches is nothing compared to how difficult this is."

Matt recently made an appearance on Good Morning Britain where he was quizzed by hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley. He was grilled about his I'm A Celebrity appearance as well as his role as the former health secretary.
After it was announced that Matt had given just three-per-cent of his £330,000 I'm A Celeb fee to charity, Susanna questioned him as to why he'd gone back on his promise to give the full amount. She Susanna asked: "You gave £10,000 out of £330,000, why not give all of it to charity?"
Matt responded: "I gave a substantial amount. I think it's still decent and the money I donated is more than my MP salary". But unhappy with his answer, Susanna pressed: "Couldn't they have benefitted from more of your fee rather than £10,000 out of a quarter of a million?".
Susanna also quizzed Matt on whether he broke the Covid guidelines during his role as health secretary. "It doesn't feel like I got away with it Susanna," the MP said, "of course it wasn't breaking the law because the legal rules weren't in place. That's why I wasn't fined."
The host then jumped in: "But there was a ban on gathering indoors? Did you receive a fine?." Matt responded: "No because what I did wasn't against the law, but I did break the guidelines and I resigned, and I did take accountability."
When asked by Richard if his future is in showbiz, he responded: "I'm not going to stand as an MP but one of the things I'd love to do is documentaries on matters that I think are important." Asked by Richard "what are you?" he said: "Well I have been a politician and I'm clearly still in the public eye. I'm going to spend 2023 working out what to do next."
